Struggles with Contacting IRS

IRS "customer service" is the most laughable thing I've ever heard. They need to just keep it "IRS",period. There is no customer service, the only ppl who're nice to you either can't access a single megabyte of your personal tax info or it's the wrong dept. Even if you have the prompt numbers, still- you're calling all day long because every time you actually connect to the correct line, an automated recording tells you they're too busy and hangs up on you.
How many ppl is it that get through, and actually recieve any legitimate assistance/resolution, and get help on average? 17-19, I can't remember, but that number is atrocious. And that's just the number who get through, we don't know if they were actually assisted in ANY way.
They need more ppl!
Just find previous employees and offer them their jobs back. They're HIGHLY understaffed, because of it over 29 million ppl have been waiting for two months, or longer, to get their refund. Keep in mind the majority of those families are low income and desperately need their returns.
All I'm trying to do is talk to someone about my taxes, see why they're being held, why they've been "been being processed" for over a month, if there's anything I can do to help, or to just get a status and ETA for my refund. I'm certain it's not hard for most to believe, I've been calling them since last year because they were sending my stimulus checks to my ex-husband's address, even though I filed with direct deposit the year before. That resolved itself without me ever getting a hold of them for some magical reason. Now the extreme delay of my refund happens, I only just got through for the first time a few weeks ago because I purposely connected to the wrong dept. To my dismay, he was extremely rude, talked over me, said- and I quote: "I get calls like this all day long. You aren't the first and won't be the last".

Unprofessional, inefficient, rude, condescending, useless, and a complete and utter waste of time.
I've worked a total of 12 years of my life as a customer care representative, I HELPED people. And when I couldn't, I got a representative from the department that could, before I EVER transferred them. I'd have been fired a hundred times over if I treated and talked to ppl the way that man talked to me. It's unconscionable. If I could give him no stars or negative stars, I would.
My overall experience would be described as EXTREMELY disappointed. I understand covid happened, that ppl are sending paper returns to add to the trailer full they still have from last year, that they have to find taxes from 2019 to confirm the correct refund for 2020, that they're understaffed and why, but that doesn't make it ok.
My mother filed her taxes for 2019 AND 2020 less than 5 days ago and has already recieved her federal and state refund... what in the name of GOD is happening??

No help ! They send you to another call that leaves you in a ring. Circle ⭕️ no help to answer questions.So messed up. My stimulus was lost about three months ago an now they. Have left me with no way literally to receive my check after many other issues. As well. as my lady’s money was not received even on her tax return after she didn’t receive a check as well. An there is no one who can help us. There all ‘ that say let me send you to this person or area just to get rid of you when they know they won’t answer or it’s a machine.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’ve called, I’ve chatted & I even emailed them with a SIMPLE question & they still can’t give me an answer.Keep telling me to visit this link & go online to check. THAT WAS THE FIRST THING I DID. IF I WANTED TO CHECK ONLINE I WOULDN’T HAVE CALLED. I wanted to speak with a live person to confirm something because it is more reassuring.

Took forever to answer but I understand the wait since everyone else is calling, just ridiculous howeven tho i waited 30 min and the lady still had me on hold it was hard to hear her and i politely asked her to repeat was she said and the answer was OMG And began yelling like im being nice and understanding and your being rude to me

I have Called a few times and they have been pleasant but today I spoke with Michica ID# 1001889654and she was so rude and horrible she made me feel like I was a criminal then when she asked what My employer was I told her the County she then later told me you work for the government you should know you need to wait I was fed up by then I said no I work for the government and know How I should treat people and its not like this I work hard every day and for her to treat me like that was so horrible.

HORRIBLE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - I would rate them a -10 stars if the option was available.My return was accepted March 19, 2021 to date my return/refund has not been processed! It's easier to pull teeth out of a bear's mouth than it is to get an IRS representative on the phone to assist you. This is absolutely ridiculous! Why aren't there any communications sent regarding our tax returns filed! Are our tax returns being put on the back burner??? We deserve answers as tax payers!
