Would avoid. Plagued with issues.

When Freshbooks works, I hear it's wonderful. My experience has been something wholly different.Full disclosure: They tell me the issues are actively being resolved, so I'll continue to be patient. That said, my account has been plagued with issues. Inaccurate categorisation, months of data lost, transactions that should be 'learned' are not, and now, in the latest of a string of headaches, bank account connections continue to be lost. Their support team is responsive and polite. They are also well-versed in responses like "your feedback helps us improve", "we're actively working on this issue", and "assure you it is a priority." But the fact is a service I pay for continually underwhelms, loses my data, and requires me to repeatedly babysit my account to ensure it's accurate. What's more, there doesn't seem to be any true escalation, issues with services that are fundamental to their platform (tracking expenses) still aren't resolved. When I asked "Why would I keep paying for this service?" the response I received was akin to: You're right. I'd go elsewhere. It's a nice looking platform that's easy to use. And when it works it's great. But when it doesn't, you'll be investing your time to help them fix the problem.

New Freshbooks is the worst. We feel betrayed after 8 years of using classic and being forced to upgrade with our new company.Everything we once had now seems to require a "feature request". I don't see them coming back from this. Sad though we are, it is time to say goodbye.

Used to be a great product and the web's absolute #1 support. Now the new freshbooks is a giant step backwards.Trully terrible. Ugly, wasteful interface, difficult to "scan" a column. Lack of default settings like late notices, no main email address for all invoices to come from, the paper invoicing has been farmed out to another company and any issues with that are not their problem anymore. Support ticketing eliminated. On and on. I don't see anything that's improved. Really sad to see a once terrific product ruined.

I'm planning my departure from Freshbooks. Freshbooks forced us to upgrade to the 'new'Freshbooks from Freshbooks Classic earlier this year. After 15 years of using Freshbooks Classic, I was VERY pleased with how it worked. The 'new' Freshbooks is horrible. It's slow, it's buggy, it's laden with errors. The phone support used to be good - it's now somber individuals who have NO resolution for ANYTHING because it ALL stinks, and it breaks DAILY. Can't track time, can't load projects, breaks invoicing, clears system wide settings, it NEVER ENDS. I HATE the software now. I cannot STAND the company, because they don't even BOTHER to try to fix anything. The same issues continue for weeks on end with no resolution. It's a waste. The accounting features are laughable.

There's no way this is the same programming team as the original. I have had a multitude of irritations with the Freshbooks software itself. They have reached out and attempted to 'remedy' my problems but we always end up at an impasse because this is how it's designed. It's not intuitive, it's often slow or times out, many times reports won't show as paid even though they are, the invoices that are emailed from Freshbooks often never arrive, the search function is horrible." I tried the new freshbooks within days requested to return to previous freshbooks and now it is having problems, I guess that was inevitable. Work arounds to problems are not a solution! Major problems for our business sending estimates to educational departments, when customer is viewing the system is automatically accepting. pardon the pun but this is not acceptable! "I doubt I will be a customer for much longer."

It's not intuitive, it's often slow or times out, many times reports won't show as paid even though they are, the invoices that are emailed from Freshbooks often never arrive, the search function is horrible. I am a 39 year old IT professional, my job is literally working with software vendors. The old software, while it wasn't polished, worked flawlessly but the new system, while it looks better, only aggravates me more and more as time goes on. I doubt I will be a customer for much longer.

No such thing as a free trial

Was trying for a free trial, now I have an unending stream of emails referring to my *account* into which I have never been able to login,let alone cancel. Decided on another accounting program which had different job tracking capabilities, so can't comment on quality of the program itself, but the customer service in trying to resolve this is dreadful.

Another classic user unhappy with the new version. I only use FB to write estimates and invoices,been doing it for years. I have multiple people for each of my clients that request estimates. It used to be a breeze to 1) select the company, and then 2) select my contact from checkboxes. Now that isn't even possible, they took that away. Now before each estimate I need to change the primary contact of that client to the person I am writing the estimate for, same with invoicing. I called them, and they said the only thing they can do is put in a feature request.
