Five Guys has been a Washington, DC area favorite since 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell offered sage advice to the four young Murrell brothers: "Start a business or go to college". The business route won and the Murrell family opened a carry-out burger joint in Arlington, Virginia. Under the guidance of Jerry and Janie, the Murrell family served only hand-formed burgers cooked to perfection on a grill along with fresh-cut fries cooked in pure peanut oil. The little burger joint quickly developed a cult-like following. Press paid attention. Customers voted the burger "#1" in the metro area. During the 1980's and 1990's the Murrell family perfected their simple system. Five Guys was The Place to get a fresh, juicy burger with all the toppings you could stuff between fresh-baked buns. A fifth brother was born and, as their family grew, so did their business. Four more restaurants with sit-down seating were added to accommodate the growing clientele. Early in 2003 Jerry and Janie, together with the five "guys" began offering franchise opportunities. In just under 18 months, Five Guys Enterprises sold options for over 300 units. The overwhelming success of franchising a local restaurant made national news with articles in trade publications such as Nation's Restaurant News, Restaurant Business Magazine, and the Franchise Times. Now, over 20 years after Five Guys first opened, there are over 1,000 locations nationwide and over 1,500 units in development. Five Guys continues to receive media attention and has grown a cult-like following around the world.

How difficult is it to get an order correct! You don’t even have to take the order yourself, it’s all on line!They charge a fortune and can’t even get the toppings correct! Stay in school people! You try to support your local franchises during a pandemic but they can’t seem to get an order as simple as a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce mayo ketchup pickles and jalapeños. How difficult is that!

Can’t believe the prices here got bland tasteless burgers and people say MacDonald’s are crap lol atleast macdonalds know how to present food messge for management try presenting your food better and use trays not throw the food in a crappy bag and charge extionate prices 26 00 for 2 crap burgers 2 soft drinks. and fries

This place is great , I had been to the Wandsworth branch of the FIVE GUYS atmosphere was chill and cool.The were really friendly and they knew as what they were doing and what they were talking about , and making their customers happy was their main priority, it was only a collection , but the staff were so organised that the food came out of the kitchen in no time , and I did not had to wait for long , the food was delicious and enjoyed every part of it , waiting to have the restaurants experience once when the lockdown is eased , in all a good experience ?

The fries were somewhat soggy and greasy, the shake was decent and the burger the same. But the price....O...M...G.Where else on God's green earth would a person pay $20 for a single patty cheese burger, regular fry and a regular vanilla shake??? Outrageously expensive. The service was decent, but I will never go back there again. In N Out will forever be my saviour. I will never go back to Five Guys until they have more reasonable prices and that may be never.

Ordered online. Waited 50 minutes for my food!! When it arrived it was cold! Asked for a refund as that is disgusting service and was told thats not possible as I took the food...what else am I mean’t to do?! Awful service. Had to reheat the food in the microwave and the food was burnt.
Was told by a staff member that they couldn’t cope and while I was waiting you could see all the bags of food piling up going cold. Disgusting

We got a large takeout order from 5 Guys in Maple Grove on Main Friday night.This place always gets the orders right.The food was wrapped up really good so it was still warm when we got home. The fries are the absolute best.

We tried the new five guys in Stevenage. We accepted it was busy and that the waiting time would be longer than normal.Even after being given a hour waiting time for curbside. We decided we would wait. Even when it ran over by about fifteen minutes.
Yet we were both disappointed in the quality and presentation.The bags were sealed and so I checked where my milkshake was only to find theyhad placed a unsealed drink in with a bottle of coke. Then into the bag......on inspection only a quarter of the drink remained in the cup. I’m glad I checked before the assistant delivering it had chance to walk away. So that got changed and new drinks were brought to us. I opened the other bag containing the food and it was full of loose fries, which had been placed in there as is. As the cup holders they use were full. Now each portion was about £5.00 each. Who wants there food just thrown into a paper bag. Now once I managed to get hold of the burgers- the packaging was greasy . The bun was cheap and soggy and half the cheese was stuck to the greasy foil wrapper. So my £8.00 burger looked like it had seen better days. I am so disappointed, We have had five guys whilst out in the states and even had one from five guys inManchester. But I’m not sure I would be in a hurry to part with under £40.00 again. For that standard of food. I really don’t like to be negative .... but if you are going to up price a burger . Then make it right ....

I would say I probably end up running in there once every two weeks, and have been for a few years now.It’s at a point where as someone who never posts reviews I’m driven to do so. It is a complete gamble if you even get what you order. You paid for bacon, you didn’t get it. You ordered a milk shake, good luck if it’s the flavor you ordered. You wanted large fries, how can the variation in how much you get be so drastic. The food tastes great, if you actually manage to get what you order and more than 50% of the time I don’t.
