My opinion is purchase elsewhere.

Reviewed on 2021-03-27T08:39:13

Good points: A fair evaluation of your Music collection. Bad points: Sellers have the impression that their evaluaton of CD quality is what Discogs is implying.Simply not true. 2 discs purchased at VG+ had over 20 scratches on them. 1 was so bad it cost me £46.50 to get it and £9.00 to send it back. I have not recieved any refund. Paypal was no help whatsoever so the monies are lost! At this point is where my gripe is: there is no way of getting your cash back. And there is no way of explaining the problems to Discogs as they were perfectly ignorant and kept relying on the fact that I was suposed to negatively review the seller to get things to be sorted. On having a single negative review myself because I reviewed the seller whho sold a cd which was actually a good quality and not a VG+ I was unable to purchase many of the cd's on the site. Reviews eh? I don't rely on them as peple can be so impulsive. My review of this site has taken me days to come to terms with so as not to be an impulse review. Overall the site for purchasing is no good as sellers interpret their quality of CD's themselves. That is no good because a single scratch on the surface of the reading side warrants a good and not a VG+ and then over 20 scratches would warrant a fair if it still played. Discogs quality control is not good at all. On purchasing CD's elsewhere: Never had a scratched CD from either of the main sellers even with "Good" quality. There are also traders out there that have so many in stock that all scratched cd's are recycled plastic. I closed my account with Discogs as I lost too much money with the purchases I got from them. Their excuse would be we are not sellers.... They ARE ultimately responsible though! My opinion is purchase elsewhere. 07/04/2021 In reply to a well thought out reply from Discogs. Sadly Discogs is seriously open to abuse! I understand you want honest people to sell on your site but, the fact is there are few honest good sellers. That makes the fact that you have no liability and therefore the site is inept of justice. Should I wish to continue purchasing from Discogs? Nah thanks. Other sites that are liable are more trustworthy. Goldmine Standard: On your site Goldmine Standard means nothing if the disc has over 20 scratches on it like the one I purchased as VG+. What a joke and a con that was. Retaliatory feedback yes for having a CD that was not as described. At that point I should have closed account. But, I kept going until the con of 20+ scratches. Bad sellers are warned then removed? Identification of bad sellers is one thing. Refunds are another! Who loses the customer. Again, retaliatory feedback caused me to be unable to purchase from other sellers. My downgrading for the fact that I purchased in good faith and received a bad review for telling seller the CD was not standard is abominable! You said I hope this speaks of the concerns which caused issue? Definitely not! Sadly because your site is as earlier said inept of blame! Thanks. Disgruntled and £55+ down!
