Definitely not sure about their Travel Insurance

Booked a seven day UK cruise with Cunard for August 2021. Decided to take out their own travel insurance (holiday extras)at a cost of £75 because they have so many travel insurance stipulations it seemed the easiest option. Just received the 112 page policy that has more conditions than buying a house. Very disappointed!read more

Cunard threatening legal action after sending a cheque with my name on it !!!
I am a single mother who was working as a private carer on the Queen Mary when the Virus hit,it turned out to be the cruise of doom and my ticket was payment for my services as a carer.
I got offered cruise credit from Cunard when I complained about there awful care on board and decided to book another cruise with my partner.
This got cancelled due to the pandemic and when I went to rebook it was £2000 more! I complained and next thing got a cheque through the post with my name on it.
I had just moved and it was a welcome compensation for the cancelled cruise.
Oh no Cunard say it was wrongly given to me and I should now pay it back, I cannot afford to do this and now have had legal action threatened! I tried explaining I thought it was mine so I spent it, I did try contacting them but the phone lines were down and now after five months they are threatening with legal!
I cannot believe such a company can do this, I am worried out of my mind and cannot sleep at night, I have had emails through the night and all has led to me suffering anxiety.
Go to court to fight or try and take out a loan I can’t afford !read more

We originally booked through Cunard for a cruise in July 2020, it was cancelled because of Covid. My deposit was transferred to cruise in 2021 but cancelled again.
I've filled in online refund twice and spoken to Cunard three times over the past 5 weeks and although promises were made I'm still waiting for my £485.
What's going on
Follow up: Two days later
Refund came through after another phone call.
Thanks Cunardread more

We paid Cunard for an Atlantic crossing to New York in April 2020 which was postponed to April 2021 and then cancelled. In the circumstances that was fine. On 9th December 2020 we received notification £4200 would be repaid as we had booked directly with the company. After waiting 90 days and hearing nothing more we successfully took legal action. If you are UK resident then do use the small claims process as it is cheap and effective. Cunard is a business that is not what it seems. Chaotic and dishonest are two qualities that have emerged as their business environment went awray. Proceed with caution if you decide to travel with them.read more

As I don't use Travel agents for my cruises any longer due to past refund issues over covid I decidedto book direct with Cunard.
I found the cruise online slightly cheaper and decided to see if Cunard would stand by its price promise.
With a couple of emails I'm pleased to say they did.
So well done Cunard -on top of that its always nice calling as the staff are really friendly and professional and most of all helpful.read more

I booked my cruise with two dogs Sept 2019 for end of Oct 2021. It was cancelled. Cunard didn't tell us the exact reasons so I have been asking them. They literally sent me a letter saying that they refuse to answer. It's funny how a 7 day cruise gets cancelled but they can still sail 30 days around Australia and Asia. Their customer service is terrible, beyond incompetent and absolutely careless. Now I am stuck in the US and I am trying to get 2 dogs back safely to the UK. At least I know never to use this terrible company ever again. Still haven't had my refund. I'm sure you are liking collecting the interest off all our money. ZERO STARSread more

I did a review for our trip Southampton NY Dec 15th 2019. I did state that I was sick on board and having read a blog from a lady on the Jan 2020,world cruise, I believe I had contracted Covid. I had paid a deposit Sept 2019, for our return from NY, back to Southampton. Travelled to a home in FL. I received an email in Jan 2020, saying pay balance by Feb3rd 2020, or we cancel your trip, I paid, this was nearly 4mths in advance, balance was $5,350, $1,800, was for our 2 Yorkies. Then Cunard cancelled, too late for us to leave as we needed the refund. They did rebook us, for Sept 2020, that was cancelled too, now we were too late to get our dogs home by plane, Cargo on all airlines closed. I fought to get our money back, they refunded the dogs! Did they think I was going to leave them and travel without? I finally got home with my dogs 10mths later, to find their brochure on my door mat. They did not reply to any emails, and I have since found out that a World cruise leaving NY end of January, was cut short, Asian ports cancelled. I have a feeling someone knew there was a big problem then. Had they not demanded my money or advised there was a Virus, I could have made other plans. I was a Cunard Gold, means nothing and I will never travel on Cunard again, not that they will care.read more
