VietnamPlus is a non-profit organization focused on community development in rural areas of Vietnam and Cambodia. It works with ‘MekongPlus’ as one organization in Vietnam, while MekongPlus also implements projects in Cambodia. The organization has three principles that include targeting the poorest, whose income is approximately 100 euro; the participation of all in designing the programs, in the strategies and methods, and in choosing the priority activities; and designing all actions to have a long-term impact without continuing external support. The actual assistance of VietnamPlus includes English language training, savings-credit program, agriculture programs and training, employment, school programs, and health education. One of the programs is called Vietnam Quilts, and is dedicated to offer income and employment for rural women. The annual budget of VietnamPlus and MekongPlus constitutes about 300,000 euro. VietnamPlus was established in France in 1901 as an association and registered in 1994.
