This is the worst hard drive manafucter ever!
I have ASUS laptop which had 1 TB mobile HDD from this terrible cheap company. The hard drive started to make strange noises (screetching, buzzing, beeping) in half year!!! My Windows 10 OS was so slow because of it. I just got my laptop serviced and technician replaced it with SAMSUNG EVO 870 SSD. And it works 100000 times better that than HDD trash. I will destroy that HDD into pieces and i wish i could slam it to this terrible manafucter!!! I don't recommend!!!!!!!!!read more

Have now received drive back. Data recovered and sent on a new drive, encrypted for security. Also returned old drive, though no guarantee working, but that's fair enough considering.
Overall, the support has been excellent and is contrary to the many negative reviews. I understand not everyone may get the outcome they want; I can only speak from my own experience, which has been highly satisfactory. Thank you Seagate and a special note of thanks to Fotini from their support who kept me fully informed of progress throughout.read more

The support is perfect, the products are good.

Issues with the Apps on Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slim…
Reviewed on 2021-04-17T03:56:33
I purchased a Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slim external hard drive with the intention of having a second backup for the data on my computer. After setting the apps up and doing the first backup with Toolkit. I, fortunately, checked the backup and discovered that in my Documents folder eg it hadn't backed them all. When I contacted Seagate I was informed that it possibly was the format. I could only think of that I have coloured some of my folders to make it easier to see them, but this wasn't the answer as it saved some coloured ones and not others. Other than that I can't see why it would happen as I don't use any different formats than the normal ones. With the Mylio app a similar thing happened. It didn't copy, in particular, some videos that I had copied from Vimeo in MP4 format and they didn't copy either where as other MP4 videos did. Both the apps are useless and I can only use it manually which will be time consuming even though I paid extra to have the use of the apps.
These apps do not work like they are suppose to.read more
Seagate recovered my data FOR free
Reviewed on 2021-03-14T16:02:03
TL;DR: Seagate recovered my data from an old drive that had failed FOR FREE.
*** *** ***
This reviewis about the Seagate Recovery Services division.
I am going to do my best to be as objective as possible. In other words, this review is BYOC (bring your own conclusion).
I purchased a ST31000340NS drive In November 2008 while I was living in US. I did not purchase Data Recovery, and I don't remember that I was aware of it, or if it was offered at the time of purchase by the retailer. The drive failed in October 2011, while still under warranty. I do not remember losing data at that time. Seagate replaced the drive at no charge with a certified repaired drive of exactly the same type.
About five years later, the replacement drive also failed, and this time I believe I lost some data. The drive failed gradually and I was able to copy most of my data off of it. However, some of the data could not be copied, and because of the large number of files, I was not sure if the data that I could not copy was actually important and furthermore, I wasn't even sure what files I could not copy. I kept the drive with the intention that if later I discovered that I can't find some important data, I would send it to a data recovery service.
Fast forward to about a month ago. I had been living in the UK for a few months, and I was looking for some old scanned documents, that I might or might have not had in the past.
At that point I decided to look into recovering the data from the old drive. I contacted a data recovery service here in UK, after doing some due diligence. It was going to cost £195/395 + VAT, potentially more depending on the difficulty of the data recovery process.
Just as I was communicating with this data recovery service, I had the inspiration to also contact Seagate's own data recovery division.
I called Seagate UK and talked with a customer representative, who after understanding exactly my situation, offered the service free of charge. They offered an exception/waiver from regular fees which would've applied without the data Recovery plan, which would have been expired anyway, considering the age of the drive, even at the time it failed.
I sent the drive to their labs in Netherlands, and a couple of days ago I received a brand-new drive back with the data from the old one recovered.
I find it hard to use words to express my gratitude for what Seagate did, but I'm going to do it anyway. Thank you, thank you, thank you!read more

I wrote to Seagate to tell them that I didn't find a power wire. I didn't consider that a big problem until the representative wrote back to me and literally told me,"Tough luck". I'll tell you what stores that you can go and buy a wire. I could have figured out that much myself. Thanks Seagate for all that kind "Customer Support".read more
