After being with this bank for 6+ years I am thinking it's finally time to move. Their platform has constantly been having issues and I can never login to the desktop app.How can a big corporation not even be able to fix their website issues? I am glad I haven't gotten started in buying shares for this company. Will be planning on moving my account elsewhere once I can actually get into my account.

Scotia Bank has got to be one of the worst of all time. Customer service is terrible.Their fraud and dispute process is terrible. They don't care about their clients at all. Its harder to get a dispute from the bank than it is to get it from the fraud company themselves...... I spent 4 hours on the phone speaking to multiple representatives for one issue and after multiple hang ups and disconnects the issue still isn't resolved and I just spent hours trying. Id rather switch banks entirely than deal with this issue again. Which is exactly what I will be doing, after 22 years its time to say BYE BYE scotia. This was the final straw, done with you.

This bank has lost my trust and…

Reviewed on 2021-03-29T15:17:47

This bank has lost my trust and business. I needed to remove my ex-wife from two mortgages I have for my investment properties after a separation agreement has been signed.Scotiabank pretends to open a new mortgage for me (which is ok) but treat like I am virtually paying off the old mortgages and pay the penalties but keep the business with them. As reference I am doing the same with another bank (CIBC) and there is not such insane and illogical situation like with Scotiabank. This made me realize that Scotiabank goals is to take money from customers at any cost. Terrible bank I am moving my businesses (mortgages and credit cards) to another bank as soon as possible. Stay away from Scotiabank.

Sick of their high pressure, sleazy practices

Reviewed on 2021-03-28T21:36:41

Their salespeople (not advisors, their sole job is to sell you into debt) are liars.Their customer service and responsiveness to fixing problems is non-existent...even when they caused the problem. After banking with these crooks for almost a decade I was utterly relieved to be completely rid of them. I will NEVER go back. Stay away.

DO NOT BANK WITH SCOTIA

Reviewed on 2021-03-28T18:11:20

I have banked with Scotiavank pretty much my whole life. Recently there have been a lot of problems but the icing on the cake was today.I can't get into my account until I provide the 3 digits on the back of my new card, only thing is I never got a new card. I called to find out what was going on only to be told that they sent it to the branch. The branch by the way that is only open 9:30-5 the latest. While I work 9-5 so how am I supposed to get this stupid new card. Oh also we are still in restrictions and a pandemic where I live. This whole thing is super dumb. I will be canceling my Scotia account ASAP. Oh did I mention they are charging me 55 dollars a month for banking fees for this terrible service.

We couldn’t wait to leave Scotia - so glad we did

Reviewed on 2021-03-27T02:04:18

We were only with Scotia for two years - we switched due to mortgage to make things easier. From the very beginning we realized we had made a mistake. From issues on the app to customer service by phone as well as in branch. I provided feedback however had no response - however - we got a call when they saw money sitting in the bank. No thanks - we will take our money and investments elsewhere! We’re so glad to be leaving! Adios! Ps. Scotia iTrade is not any better - 2.5hr wait to speak to a rep! Completely unacceptable.
