Bought Salewa Mountain trainer 2 10 months ago. They have only only had light weekend use (dog walking)and for 5 of those months they have not been worn as Wellies have been needed. Yet both shoes have worn a hole in them around the join of the toe box. Build quality is awful. Comfortable shoes, but only if you only want them for 5 months of light use

Bought a pair of approach shoes for £160, after a year or so, a lace eye detached and the heel liners collapsed,then a little while later the soles started coming away. I contacted them with photos and the said that I should return them to Italy. I did this, paying £11 for postage. It took them over 5 months and many emails to send them back. They didn't replace the shoes, nor did they repair them nor did they apologize for any aspect of their poor product or terrible service.

I bought a MTN trainer 25 backpack for climbing in the mountains in a closing outlet with no refund possibility.Brought on its maiden voyage on a 3 days trip including a trek and 1 multi pitch, where i secured the upper handle in a biner. On the descent the right shoulder strap snapped ripped from the sewing. I contacted Salewa, who could not help me on any warranty and suggested a local tailor out of my own pocket. I would call it a fabrication error, so I will give Salewa one star for bad quality and poor service.

Bought a pair of their expensive walking shoes - lasted about 6 months - wore through heels. ContactedSalewa and encountered a complete "numpty". Told that this was normal wear. What really irritated me was upon first contact I was asked for my bank details, you'd have thought this "numpty" would have asked after they had found in my case. Also this "numpty" signed his emails "greetings from the "dolomites". Overly friendly when he eventually told me "to go away".

Nice product but poor customer service They say 2 years warranty, with an addtional year if you register on their website.Well, I made a warranty claim and it was accepted. After sending my jacket for repair TWICE, both times they declined the repair because my jacket was 'dirty'. I washed my jacket but they must have very high standards. Now their final decision is that I repair the jacket myself. It took 2 months dealing with all this for nothing. Hours and hours wasted sending and collecting the jacket. That is unacceptable. Will not buy from this brand again.
