My upcoming vacation for May was cancelled with the resort being closed in Ontario because of ongoing COVID lockdown.As we cannot travel out of province, Canada/US remains closed and international travel not possible due to quarantine etc. With the initial phone call to RCI CSR, I was told if a new vacation is booked by Sept 30, 2021, travel can take place in 2022 using the exchange fee credit. I explained that my current week expires at the end of August 2021 and I am not able to book suitable vacations. During that phone call, which was recorded, I was informed that expiring weeks for Canadian customers are given an extension to use in 2022. However, when attempting to book a vacation for 2022 using the week that is soon to expire in August, was unable to do so. A subsequent call to RCI CSR gave me conflicting information and refused to honour what was initially offered. Instead, this CSR asked for $ to extend the expiring weeks. Such discrepancy in communicating information to customers between RCI employees. Requested escalation for mgmt to review and verify the recording of the phone conversation and connect with me. Was told a supervisor would follow up within 24-48 hours. I requested a case reference number for the conversation several times before a number was disclosed as the CSR seemed reluctant to provide it. As to date, I have not heard back from RCI. Why am I not surprised. Many companies have provided concessions to customers due to this pandemic, however, RCI has not stepped up to the plate. Instead, this company continues to leave a trail of thousands of disappointed customers.

If I could give them no stars I would. I waited on hold for 30 minutes about an issue about cancelingmy reservation due to Covid and the guys told me they don’t see that it was canceled and then hung up. Thanks for the professionalism RCI

Awful company!! My mother passed away in January 2021, unfortunately she had points and some sort of RCI membership.We have been in contact with RCI, to which we were met by a rude woman who just wanted to shut down my mams policy straight away, even though she had points due to her which had been protected. Were then in contact with an employee for diversified who claimed to be helping, he informed he was sorting out a contract to transfer the owed points, hadn't heard anything now for over 2 months! Might I point out too that the rude lady from RCI didn't even offer condolences, these people are like robots!! Don't ever get involved with this company unless you like stress and frau****** practices!

My husband and I were discussing that we should call RCI to see if they would extend our points due to covid and the inability to travel.Many companies are making exceptions during the pandemic and felt RCI could also. We have been with RCI for approximately 20 years using there services and paying to extend points. Ironically, RCI phoned today asking if we wanted to pay to extend points. When I verbalized our request for waiving the fee the RCI Representative spoke very rude and just kept repeating himself that " this is what Im offering you". Rather than guide me with information on who I could speak with to assist me he just cont. To speak rude. I even asked him why he was speaking rude. If a representative doesnt have the authority to assist he should still speak kindly and be willing to give helpful information.

I have been a member of RCI for many years. In all that time it has been very difficult to find a decent resort,most are poor quality or miles away from anywhere. The service over the years has not been brilliant, but it has dropped to rock bottom during Covid. Members are forced to book holidays or lose the points/weeks not knowing if they can travel and when it is clear that the place of travel (Spain) is not accepting tourist or that UGov advise against travel, RCI will not cancel the booking. The web site is of no use and reps are unhelpful. When adding up the cost of maintenance, RCI transfer fee and membership fees it is clear RCI no longer offer value for money and it is time I cancelled. Take my advise and spend your holiday money using Booking.com or AirBB. You may pay a little more but cancellations are free and you have so much more choice. For RCI my membership No is 240406... AP.

1 star is a compliment for this company. It is the WORST service I have ever used. I pay yearly dues,and pay dues to move my vacations over, then they charge you to extend it and charge you all kinds of nonsense fees. Of all things, during covid, my points expired and they will only extend it if I pay $239. Terrible customer service, rude people. Scott SBJ was the least helpful, least caring, least empathetic person I have ever worked with. This is a SCAM.

We booked a week in Hawaii and an additional night in a condo through Rci travel to celebrate our 40th anniversary.You must show a negative Covid test within 72 hours of departure to fly.Totally unexpected by us, we tested positive. I have to say RCI has been absolutely unprofessional and liars. The first supervisor I spoke with said just go anyway and wear a mask. This was not only insensitive but irresponsible. He told me to call back in a few hours because he couldn’t get ahold of the Maui beach club to refund our 1 night. As far as the week condo, they would only give me the $ and credits towards another stay if I gave them my credit card for another $129. I made a point to call the Maui beach club, they’re parent company Soliel, and Expedia before I called Rci back. They all said no problem refunding because you tested positive. I called back RCI and got another supervisor. She was just as insensitive as the first. After her song and dance she promised to work on the refund for the 1 night $253 and e mail me or leave me a voicemail same day. Crickets! This was a week ago. It’s obvious she had no intention of doing anything. So at this point while we fight for our lives,( we are high risk) Rci fights to keep our $502. I’d say their priorities are messed up. At no point did anyone even ask how we were. I started looking at the reviews. They are horrible. What seemed to be a good company has gone to garbage.

RCI as of late, is a disappointment!

I wish I could go less than ONE as a review. I have been a member of RCI for over a decade and I have to say,years ago they were a great service for those of us that have timeshares in far away places and couldn't get there. We used RCI as a exchange for vacations closer to home. My maintenance fee for my timeshare in St. Thomas is now $650 a year. I am a weeks member of RCI so that Fee untitled me to a 15 trading power. First off, trying to find something closer that a year away is almost impossible using RCI and having a trading power of 15 doesn't get me a very good trade. I normally wait two years and combine them together (at a cost of $153 a year) to build my trading power to 30. It doesn't stop here, I also have to pay a $250 Exchange Fee, Plus Membership extension, ($99 a year more, plus a Deposit Protection fee of $89. This puts my costs for a week in Orlando in a 2 bedroom unit at &1891.
