What does Patagonia do?

Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company based in Ventura, California. A certified B-Corporation, Patagonia's mission is to save our home planet. The company is recognized internationally for its commitment to authentic product quality and environmental activism, donating 1% of sales annually, contributing over $100 million in grants and in-kind donations since 1985. We're always looking for motivated people to join us in our retail stores; at our Ventura, California headquarters; Reno, Nevada Service Center; and occasionally in our overseas offices. We're especially interested if you love spending as much time as possible in the mountains or the wild, feel more at home in a base camp or on the river than an office, and have a passion for something outside of yourself, whether for surfing or opera, climbing or gardening, skiing or community activism. The product was bad but not what was advertised. I ordered 40 dollar shorts that were absolutely NOTHING like the picture, complete trash. They took about two moneyed to show up, and when they did— hot damn. They were laughably poor quality. They were advertised as denim, instead, they were an awful synthetic(?) material. The colors were completely different.I sent an email to the company about return no response I went online did an investigation o this company and finally, I found this help seven6zero two8four3҉1҉3҉1҉ the company customer team was great me helping to get the shipping details on my order THERE IS NO COTTON AT ALL, it is all synthetics, so if you have allergies, beware. I will likely not use this shop again

No refund after 3 weeks!

Reviewed on 2021-04-25T22:43:41

Still waiting for a refund after 3 weeks. Poorly made Woolyester fleece. Returned the item.Contacted Patagonia customer service, who told me to wait another week, and now just keep giving excuse after excuse, e.g. Brexit caused the delay, we changed carrier so there's a delay, we can't refund you because there's an audit in the warehouse! Still no refund after 9 emails to Patagonia customer service. So much for their 'IRONCLAD GUARANTEE' for HASSLE-FREE RETURNS. This company is an absolute joke. They treat their customers appallingly.

Don't trust the 'Ironclad Guarantee'

Reviewed on 2021-04-15T15:14:59

I had a figure 4 jacket that after a few years all the 'welded' seams appeared to degrade and split open. The jacket was worn for approx 3 months a year. Thinking this should be covered by the 'ironclad guarantee' I was advised that this was not as patagonia advised me that it expected that the lifetime of a jacket should be around 4 yrs. To my surprise they refused to honour their ironclad guarantee. I now have (and have had for some time) a useless jacket that they refused to repair. Do not expect the well advertised ironclad guarantee to cover faults in a jacket older than around 4 years! Please consider other manufacturers with longer lasting gear.

Quality products, quality company.

Reviewed on 2021-03-30T17:25:14

I’ve been buying Patagonia stuff since I was in high school in early 90’s. Almost all of the products have been great. The customer service as always been excellent. I love the companies commitment to reducing environmental impact environmental education & promoting a work place that cares about the employees. Love to see them using hemp & incorporating recycled fabrics. Do you know of another company that actively discourages you from consuming more? Probably not. Nearly every time I’ve selected a substitute product to save a few dollars I regretted it & usually it cost me many more dollars replacing the substitute. An example of their quality is a pair of long underwear I bought in 1998. They just got retired after this winter. They were used heavily too, several years of ski bumming. Bike commuting and daily use in Missoula & Chicago winters. They had a few runs & were thinner but they still functioned. My girlfriend took them to a cloths recycling place or I’d have used them next winter. Only negatives I’ve had is sometimes sizing runs big but this may be the sizing standards changing in the clothing industry more than Patagonia. The other is the current website is a nightmare to use with my phone to the point it’s not an option I have to use my computer. Overall satisfied customer & huge fan.

Patagonia makes the best hats!

Reviewed on 2021-03-18T21:29:18

Patagonia makes the best hats! I love their hats and they last forever. I also love their environmentalpolicies and how they fought back against the past US administration who wanted to take away our environmental rights.

I was a member of the Patagonia Pro…

Reviewed on 2021-03-10T20:09:39

I was a member of the Patagonia Pro Program for over 15 years as a PSIA certified ski instructor and as a fly fishing guide.I purchased climbing gear from Chouinard Equipment since the late 1960’s, and I purchased clothing from Patagonia since around 1975. I’m still using some clothing and gear items that I purchased back it those days. I’ve remained loyal to the brand because the designs and quality have been outstanding. I’ve promoted it with my students and customers. Recently, I was denied renewal of my Pro status because of changes in the standards for qualification. I understand this and accept that requirements change. However, now that my Pro status has been canceled, I am unable to use an existing special discount code that was granted to me last Fall and is now still valid. The coupon code was for 45% discount on “friends and family” items . I received it 10/29/2020, several months before my Pro account was canceled. It is valid until 04/30/2021. I delayed using it with the intention of using it in late winter, when new items and colors would probably be available. Now, however, it will no longer work because my Pro status has unexpectedly not been renewed. Based upon the email from Patagonia, this seemed like a good faith offer: “While we’re not holding member events like we used to, we are giving you a promo code for 45% off for you and your family. We understand how important it is to look after your loved ones and we appreciate everything you do as an outdoor professional”. Seems like a very impolite way to end a long, mutually beneficial relationship.
