Operating since 1978, Metropolitan Community College (MCC)’s South Omaha Campus is the largest of MCC’s locations in terms of enrollment. Though originally founded to train future packing plant workers, the South Omaha Campus’ academics have grown substantially in the past three decades. MCC South Omaha now offers programs in the following areas: * Business Management * Construction Technology * Criminal Justice * Electronics Technology * Health and Public Services * Respiratory Care Technology * Welding While these are the only full degree programs available, the South Omaha Campus offers many courses required for programs at other MCC locations. In order to make its academics completely accessible to the community, MCC follows an open admissions policy. Anyone over the age of 18 with a high school diploma or GED may enroll in classes. However, if you’re interested in certain health care and human services programs, you may have to fulfill additional requirements. Most full-time students at MCC are eligible for financial aid, which comes primarily in the form of federal grants, loans and work-study. Veteran benefits are also available at MCC South Omaha, and the school funds many need- and merit-based scholarships. Make sure to complete the FAFSA for financial aid consideration.
