What does Mama Bamboo do?
Mama Bamboo launched in 2018 with an ambition to disrupt the UK nappy market. For 60 years disposable nappies have been damaging the environment. Traditionally made using crude oil, polypropylene and polyethylene, disposable nappies are one of the worst forms of single used plastic and represent c10% of black bin waste. Following months of research and development our unique range of 100% bamboo fibre nappies were launched in September 2018, alongside a range of 100% compostable bamboo wipes. In November 2019 our Bamaboo nappies were awarded Best Performance Disposable Nappy Range at the 2020 Mother & Baby Awards - winning the award above seven other shortlisted nappies by Pampers, Tesco, Asda, Lidl and Aldi. Bamaboo is the only 100% bamboo fibre nappy range available in the UK and the only nappy range to be packaged in 100% compostable wrapping. Our supply chain has been thoroughly researched. Bamboo is the most sustainable choice of natural fibre, it is naturally fast growing and doesn't require false irrigation, pesticides or fertilisers. Bamboo is exceptionally soft, a highly absorbent and breathable natural fibre, it is also naturally anti-bacterial and temperature regulating. Our nappies don't need alcohol or chlorine, nor are they made using crude oil. Replacing polypropylene and polyethylene with bamboo and a corn starch lines our nappies have been designed to minimise impact and damage to the environment, without compromising on quality. 3 billion nappies are sent to landfill every year in the UK and represent c10% of black bin waste. Traditional disposable nappies will still be sitting in landfill in c500 years, possibly longer. Our Bamaboo nappies are 80% biodegradable and we actively campaign for DEFRA to put in place initiatives, targets and investment for used nappies to be recycled - as the Welsh Government has achieved in Wales, working with Nappicycle and WRAP UK.

Searched high and low for eco nappies that actually worked and didn’t give my daughter nappy rash.Bamaboo nappies are a GOD SEND! I tried maybe 7 different brands of eco nappies, none of them even came close to these. They perform incredibly, barely any leaks. They’re soft and have never given my baby nappy rash. 100% recommend

Best nappies on the market. Excellent quality soft bamboo, no leakage even after a full night of sleep,no signs of nappy rash making happy mum and baby. A bit on a pricey side of the spectrum but definitely worth every penny. Tried a lot of different natural and more conscious brands but no one compares to Mama Bamboo. They are also very honest about all the ingredients in their nappies which are actually printed on the biodegradable packaging. Very efficient if answering questions too!

We're really happy with Mama Bamboo nappies and would recommend for people after eco-friendly nappies that are soft and highly absorbent.We use washable nappies during the day and these at night and when out and about because they're so absorbent- we've never had overnight leaks with them. The website is easy to use with quick delivery and excellent communications.

Really impressed with the quality of these nappies! Not the cheapest but worth every penny as I save on washing with less leaky nappies.They feel lovely against baby’s skin and they fit great. Love the wee indicator strip. The customer service is good and they helped me get my subscription sorted. The wipes and the nappy bags are also very good. The bags are easy to dispense compared to other bags which sometimes come out in clumps, the same goes for the wipes! Overall very happy!
