In a recent move, the clamp for the head of my magnifying lamp was broken. Just the clamp.I'm not even sure I purchased the lamp at Lee Valley, but they sell a similar lamp. When I requested a new clamp, they contacted the manufacturer and I was able to purchase the part for $5, plus shipping. The part arrived in due course, it fits perfectly and now the $85 lamp is fixed! Very happy. Thank you Lee Valley.

Backorder Failures

Constant problem with backordered items. They have NEVER been right about their backorders - They are always later,sometimes months later, than they state when they take the order. The only notification you'll receive from them is - Nothing. You'll have check on your order after it was due, and see that they've moved the backorder date, yet again.
This is not a recent problem - It's an always problem.

I no longer drive so it has been numerous years since I set foot in the westend Edmonton location but I love that store,there are things you can find there that are relatively cheap little gadgets, I purchased a number of their magnifying lenses, because I knew I was losing my vision and they were very well priced in comparison to similar from CNIB. My experience there had always been good. Line ups can happen anywhere, but they did not take that long, and once you got to the end the staff were always helpful with any questions I had. If I have one complaint it is that many of the items that interest me are not online available, they should consider changing that for those of us who are ot able to just drive on over

Their WEBPAGE SHOULD NOT ALLOW YOU TO PLACE AN ORDER WITHOUT A CELLPHONE NUMBER ! They do not have an intercom at the door & there is no signage of any kind .YOU MUST HAVE A CELL PHONE TO PICK UP YOUR PURCHASE . THANKYOU FOR CHEWING ME OUT .

Phone support was horrible. They would not give me the matching part numbers for their products.Literally told me its online go look. I was pissed cause I just explained to him that the part items online do not tell you what the corresponding items are. Ex diffuser cover , channel, clips. I am an electrician so I know exactly what to ask and this guy was lazy and did not help part all.

No response from customer service for 8 days. We are looking for a part for a sander. 3 emails,one phone call, and 2 emails to the Edmonton store. Still nothing. Very disappointing. Looking for a more reliable store will see.
