Do not book thru Hotels.com!

We booked a hotel thru Hotels.com. When we arrived at the hotel is was closed due to no electricity.Both Hotels.com and the hotel refused to give us a refund. I will never use this service again. How can they keep people’s money and not deliver a product. We went to the hotel and the hotel told us they were closed. We honored our part of the agreement, Hotels.com did not.

Booked hotel in HK on prepaid basis to take advantage of pricing and understood rules but at time ofbooking the word COVID was not known about and neither was political unrest on the streets shown daily in UK . We were unable to go as there was a travel ban and was offered a voucher which I accepted only to be advised it was for use ONLY back at the original hotel and not within Hotels.com network -WHY hotels.com are you trying to make money out of COVID ??? Shame on you . I was lucky as I got a tel no to work but was just read the conditions and no real interaction with “ customer relations” as this is a one way street to lose money AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

Trying to change an existing reservation is a nightmare. Canceling it is easy, but actually being ableto speak to someone to just change the dates it's near to impossible.

Dealing with Hotels.com is honestly the worst experience I have had in a very long time and they arethe only company I have come across who are trying to make money out of the COVID pandemic by claiming a 100% price increase in booking a new date. Shame on them. I was on the 'phone for 57 minutes trying to change a booking which I paid extra to change "free of charge". Totally unacceptable experience in every way. My advice is to AVOID Hotels.com like the plague. Awful. I have cancelled my booking now I have to wait and see if they honour the refund offered. I won't hold my breath. I wish no stars was an option because they don't even deserve one!

Their app posts a price for hotel that is grossly inaccurate! "Click bait". It is also nearly impossible to redeem your "free night" after you've earned it!There are plenty of other rewards programs that will treat you better. Avoid Hotels.com and Expedia!

Terrible experience and bad customer service! Run from this company. You can't get any help,just an online chat that takes forever. They have a poor cancellation policy and take a big fee if you need to cancel, even if you give them 5 months' notice. After booking a room in Telluride CO, I had a family medical emergency and tried to cancel my booking. The cancellation fee was almost 25% and I got no help with this issue. Don't use this service.

False advertising! Don’t use Hotels.com or stay at The Carolinian. This was a Birthday/Anniversary weekend get away trip that almost went south.I booked a king room with a hot tub and ocean view with free wifi. Out of the booking the only thing we got was the room with a king bed and a 6hr checkin delay. The hotel manager Cris was absolutely horrid, unsympathetic, and downright rude. I would give this hotel a 1 based on our interactions with her alone, but when you add in being homeless in another state for hours on end and not receiving the room you paid for there should a negative 5 you can give. Don’t stay here and done use Hotels.com. I actually thought maybe I’d made the mistake when choosing the room but I read the reviews around the time of my stay and they are saying the same thing. They selected and paid for one room but received another. I will never use hotels.com again.

It took too long to put on hold on the phone, I have to wait more than half an hour, and the phone got cut off.I redial, and I am on hold again for more than 1 hour. It is really frustrated. Finally I have ANDREI on the phone with me. I was so upset because my problem with booking, ANDREI was so patient, taking the time to calm me down, and do his best to solve my problem. I give 5 STARS for ANDREI. Greatly appreciate for his help
