Health Care Is going Downhill While Costs Are Increasing By 9.4%

Reviewed on 2020-11-25T02:22:30

I have been using HealthPartners for years but this year the quality of the health care and customer service I am receiving has gone way down, negatively impacting my health. I was not given information about common side effect for a medication and I ended up with optic neuritis where I could barely see anything out of one eye and I lost my color vision in that eye as well. I was told that I was approved for a treatment for my multiple sclerosis, but when I went to that appointment, I found out that I wasn't spproved, which delayed my treatment. I called to schedule an appointment for an infusion for my multiple sclerosis when I was having a flare-up and had to wait over a month to get one because HealthPartners had closed their Riverside infusion clinic. During this waiting period my multiple sclerosis worsened, causing me almost constant pain in my legs and making it very difficult to walk. Two different doctors requested that I have blood drawn and neither of them gave me information about the results of the blood values, even when those values were not in the normal range. I had to call their offices, and wait on hold for an unreasonable amount of time to request this information. Then I had to wait for a nurse to call me back. Then I had to wait for the nurse to talk to my doctor and call me back. My time is valuable too! HealthPartners has closed two clinics that I used regularly. This means I have to travel further to see my physicians, which is real hardship as I don't have car. I called HealthPartners the week of November 11tyh to find out what the cost would be for my Medicare Supplement Insurance and was told that they hadn't set the price yet. This is quite a ways into the period when individuals can change their insurance without there being a penalty and there is no good reason that HealthPartners couldn't provide the cost of their insurance. I called HealthPartners again on 11/24/20 and was told that my insurance was going up from $233.00 a month to $255.00 a month. That is an increase of over 9.4% at the same time that services from HealthPartners is going downhill. I wouldn't stay with HealthPartners except that I have two good specialist physicians that I don't want to lose. But if you are just looking to find a health care provider, I would recommend that you look elsewhere.

Providers Claims Help Desk Problems

Reviewed on 2020-11-19T19:10:11

I'm having trouble contacting the Claims Department since June 2020. I'm on hold for at least 30mins to an hour for a representative.Sometimes longer. Once it rings and I'm being routed to a rep, the phone goes silent and then hangs up on me. I'll call back and same thing happens. Sometimes I'll get a representative. They'll take all the information (my name, contact, claim) and once they put me on hold, the call disconnects. Representatives do not call back either. I'll call back, wait in line for 30 mins to an hour just to repeat it all over again. I have to try different days and different times just to reach a rep. I would say 1 out of 20 times is when I can reach a rep who we can complete a full conversation to resolve my issues and concerns. My workload is adding up as I can not get a hold of a representative. Please explain why this is happening and provide alternatives.

Not about health!

Reviewed on 2020-09-29T02:38:07

I have say that HealthPartners.com Mn insurance has to be one of the most difficult insurance companies to work with as both a member and also someone that works for a hospital. The coverage is less than mediocre, getting prior auth for everything under the sun is annoying. Health partners demanded that I switch asthma inhalers to a medication I am allergic to, even sent me the medication and I had to pay a copay on a mediation that I can not even take. Called them and explained that I’m allergic to the medication and was told to appeal the denial. Why was the correct medication denied in the first place?!? I have heard people referring to health partners as death partners because of all the errors they make and now I completely understand where that comes from! Can’t wait until our contract is up so we can switch to a new company!

Very disappointed about my recent…

Reviewed on 2020-08-27T15:36:31

Very disappointed about my recent visit. I scheduled an appointment for chronic fatigue that I've dealt with for about one year.On the phone I was told insurance would cover the full cost of the appointment. The doctor asked me many personal questions, some seemed quite irrelevant to the problem. No tests were ordered, no medication prescribed, nothing was done to help/improve my fatigue. The doctor told me to drink lots of water, get enough sunlight, and excerise frequently. Then I was still charged a co-pay. I never would have gone if I'd known this would be the outcome. I'm never going back to Health Partners, it was a complete joke. Someone who'd supposedly had years and years of training told me nothing other than the basics of a healthy lifestyle which I already had known and used daily.

Wait for Nothing

Reviewed on 2020-07-14T17:03:17

I recently went online to find a doctor. I am trying to establish primary care. The doctor I found had a high rating and, according to the HealthPartners website was taking new patients at the Arden Hills clinic. I sat on the phone for 45 minutes to schedule the appointment only to be told that the provider I wanted to see was not seeing new patients. The person at the call center was pleasant and did her best to help. However, the experience was a waste of time and I was not able to schedule with the provider I chose even though the website indicated that she was taking new patients.
