Stay away while you can

Reviewed on 2021-05-20T07:09:03

In 2019 I'd subscribed to its Pro service which meant paying a monthly fee for a year without a chance of getting out. This was fine, I knew the terms and conditions then and I knew what I was signing up for. However after the covid pandemic struck, in 2020 April, I wrote them a mail asking to "freeze" my account. Mind you "freeze" not "cancel". This meant that I wanted to continue my subscription after the pandemic ended. I knew that this was not in their terms and conditions but because of the pandemic -this is very important- their service became something that they cannot promise to provide. Here's a good example: I'm from Turkey and all the gigs they can provide are in the EU. At the time there was not even a way of getting a EU visa because of the pandemic. And this is the situation even today. You can travel to the EU only if you have a prior Schengen visa or if you're a EU citizen already. You can also add the fact that the festivals and the gigs are not happening for the past year all around the world. So they did not only reply to my mail, in August 2020 they automatically extended my subscription for another year without my consent or my knowledge. A month ago I received a mail from a company called Creditreform, which is a debt collecting company, threatening me to pay the unpaid Gigmit fee. I was shocked to see that my subscription had been extended another year and now there's a pile of debt that I cannot afford. As you well know, musicians all around the world are in quite a bind now, including myself, as we've been out of work for more than a year. I've written another mail to Gigmit 2 weeks ago, twice, which was again unanswered. I kindly asked them to cancel my subscription and remove my debt since they are charging me this fee for "a service they cannot promise to provide". I believe this makes their terms and conditions nullified. In my opinion, last year Gigmit should already have let their customers cancel their subscription who wanted out, after we all realized that this pandemic was here to stay. This was the right thing to do anyway. I'm really hoping that you can help me out in this situation and get me out. I cannot even log on to my account on Gigmit to cancel my subscription for another year since the web site is asking me to close my debt before accessing my personal information. I'm afraid if I cannot do something now, my subscription will be renewed for yet another year in August. I've made an official complaint to ECC and Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, hoping that they'll help me out and get me out of this mess that is called gigmit.

To be fair, it WAS a good system before

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T17:59:56

To be fair, Gigmit "was" a good service before when the CEO himself was still present and involved.I actually got some interesting gigs through Gigmit system. But around that time when they introduced Gigmit Gold/Pro, things started to change for the worse. I paid more than they could deliver. Customer service got worse as well. I had spent so much time to inform them what went wrong in details - more than a couple of times, in hope of improving before I left. I went out of the system, and haven´t been back since then with no regret. I believe you still might be lucky and do better than others if you play rock/pop around Germany-area, and/or if your contact has skills. But be aware that you may take a chance here without being able to cancel your subscription. Btw. Gigmit tried to send me a request to influence, update or delete my review. Any authentical reviews - both positive and negative - should be allowed. I would rather suggest Gigmit to spend more energy on building up the service instead.

Something horrible became something amazing

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T16:59:29

First at all, I'm sorry if my english isn't good enough, it's not my main language, read this review if you also got a collection agency issues. When I registered with them, I didn't notice that you pay monthly but you are settled for a year, first at all that was my mistake. Suddenly I got a collection agency asking me for 6 unpaid months + an extra cost for their services. I got really worried, and did a google search and found that some people got the same issue, so I contacted Gigmit (I must say that I contacted them pretty angrily) and a day latter I got a reply, I understood that sadly I needed to read the subscription details (it's stated on it), so I paid the debt, everything got settled, we worked towards an agreement, and I have to say that they are super cool and polite people. I decided to write a review because I was on the side that got payment issues, but I also got on their side and understood them. All I can say is that I'm pretty happy with how everything ended, and that we must read the details before buying a subscription, and that we must understand that their support guys aren't some monsters that don't care about us, so please, don't do what I did, and be kind to them.

These are scammers who will take your money

Reviewed on 2021-05-14T08:31:05

These are scammers who will take your money even if you do not use their services.Stay away from Gig Meats if your money is important to you. I have not received a single event. What I got was just a headache and the payment for the subscription from which I unsubscribed (and deleted the account), as well as the pursuit of the collection agency. I am sorry that I once found out about this fraudulent company. The only thing I can wish for her is that she goes broke as soon as possible and be punished for her actions.
