What is Forestry Commission's Revenue?

Forestry Commission's estimated revenue for 2024 is $261M.

What does Forestry Commission do?

What do we do? We plant more than 20 million trees every year, to create new woodland and to replace the trees we harvest. We sustainably harvest almost four million tonnes of wood every year from England and Scotland's public forests. That's more than a third of total domestic production. As Britain's largest land manager we are custodian of more than 900,000 hectares of land, including some of our best loved and most spectacular landscapes. Our plant health officers inspect wood imports at ports to minimise the risk from foreign pests and diseases. Our experts work with local authorities and landowners to contain and control any spread. We licence tree felling to protect our woodlands for generations to come. We provide grants, licences and advice to private woodland owners to encourage new tree planting and to help keep private forests under sustainable management. We protect species, improve habitats and protect historical sites. We safeguard the national tree collections at Westonbirt, Bedgebury and Kilmun, conserving more than 4000 different taxa – making it one of the most comprehensive tree collection in the world. We take degraded land no one else wants and turn it into green space for the benefit of all. We offer visitors many thousands of waymarked walks and trails, cycle routes and bridle paths, open every day and free of charge. The millions of visitors contribute some £2 billion annually to the economy, mostly into rural areas.

Has anyone yet had a refund for the Cannock concerts. I do agree it is unprecedented times and we should be patient. However, the money for cancelled tickets would come in quite handy at this moment in time. To say you should be ashamed for asking for your money back that is owed you really does not make sense.

Given these unprecedented times, this company are doing all they can. As annoyed and angry as this is making me feel,I refuse to take it out on the company or worse still, take it out on their staff. Nobody has ever had to deal with circumstances such as these! #BE KIND! What happened to that? You disgraceful people! These are humans having to deal with 100s of our responses. Humans for all we know that may be effected by this disease! They emailed, they responded to questions and they refunded! Every live event will keep your booking fees!

A nasty and badly managed move to automatic parking management and billing.

Reviewed on 2019-06-10T17:21:05

OK, We visit Forestry Commission properties alot. They are great for the kids, walking and cycling. We usually buy a year-long pass as its cheaper than paying the 6 pounds or so to park for each visit. Forestry England (the new snappy post-devolution name for the Forestry Commission) have recently changed the car parking to a number plate recognition system and its all 'gone online'. We visited for the first time since this change today, we also needed to renew our pass. We were told by the lady there that 'the till wasn't open' so she couldn't process our membership renewal but we could do it online. We were also told that if we renewed our pass today we wouldn't have to pay individually for today's parking. Great; so far so good. 'But', said the lady in a manner not too dissimilar to the traditional fairy godmother;: "You must be sure to do it before midnight or you will get a parking fine". Ok must do. We got home at 1730 and tried to log in. It didn't recognise my email address. Odd. I tried resetting my password.... again it simply didn't recognise the email to send a reset to. Nightmare. Undeterred I tried to call the helpline.... they all went home at 1700. OK next: Try to register as a new customer... nope ! Apparently it remembered me then and said 'a customer with these details already exists' and wouldn't let me proceed further. I now can't buy a pass until I speak to someone tomorrow (well past the midnight deadline) and await my wretched parking fine. By midnight tonight I will be a little bit poorer and a great deal more upset. What a dreadful, frustrating and worrying experience. They can't sell you membership in person, advising you to go online only to be met with a bluff, unresponsive and ignorant website that fails at every turn and will ultimately cost me more money in fines or heartache trying to remove the fine. All for a walk in the woods. Not-worth-it. I would advise anyone to seek alternative venues or park at a nearby carpark or layby and walk to the forest. So far they haven't got facial recognition (but I guess they soon will!).
