Worst customer experience ever (Lenovo purchase through Digital River) This company is a fraud company.I bought a laptop and it was faulty. Trying to arrange a return for weeks and all they keep on doing is saying 5 days more and so on. Don't trust these scammers. Use your charge back and get the money back.

Worst customer experience (3 months in and can't return order)

Reviewed on 2021-05-19T11:34:56

If it was possible to give zero star, that's what I would give them! Please avoid them at all cost, whether it be via a direct order or through a partner, in my case, it was on the Lenovo website. I ordered a monitor on the 2nd of February 2021, it was delivered in less than a week but it wasn't exactly what I needed, I requested a refund the day after it was delivered. Today is the 19th of May 2021 and the monitor is still in my house, no refund yet, waiting for Digital River and their collection partner to get their acts together and collect, despite the numerous collections that's were arranged! I've lost count of the amount of times I've called to chase or sent an email and their priority means no reply or feedback.... Hopefully, I will get a refund in 2021! I still need to order a new monitor, but will be staying away from Lenovo via Digital River.

Appalling experience

Reviewed on 2021-05-17T07:24:47

Appalling experience; they'll take your money on behalf of another company, in my case Lenovo, but attempting to return an item has been nigh-on impossible and after 3 weeks I'm having to instruct PayPal and my bank to cancel the transaction. Legally-speaking, the contract is with Digital River as that's who I paid, but they have absolutely no interest in sorting the issue out whatsoever. If you're thinking of buying online technology, and you see that Digital River is involved anywhere in the chain, then I recommend that you simply look elsewhere.

Failed to Honour Cashback Promise

Reviewed on 2021-05-13T15:09:56

I bought a copy of Kaspersky Internet Security via the Topcashback website with the promise of 40% cashback. The purchase transaction is conducted via Digital River, who subsequently failed to honour the cashback promise. They claimed the transaction did not track, however I have not had a problem with similar cashback offers from other companies via Topcashback, so this appears to be a problem with their systems. In response to your comment below: My order for KIS was placed via the Topcashback 42.5% cashback link and was received and transacted by Digital River. In accepting and processing the order you had a responsibility to provide the cashback and Topcashback have told me you failed to do this. The explanation you previously provided is that the order was not placed via Topcashback, which is blatantly untrue. You now appear to be trying to blame an unspecified 4th party, which is ridiculous. I have already been in contact with Kaspersky Support and with Eugene Kaspersky himself, and suggested that Kaspersky should not be dealing with Digital River as it is potentially damaging to Kaspersky's good reputation.

Worst customer experience ever (Lenovo purchase through Digital River)

Reviewed on 2021-05-12T15:40:58

Four weeks after I ordered my laptop the tracking showed it had been returned to the warehouse and wasn't going to be delivered to me.It another eight days, and multiple contacts from me, to get Digital River to confirm it had been returned. I was told the laptop could not be re-sent and instead I would need to pay €1000 a second time if I wanted the laptop and I would get a refund of the first €1000 sometime in future. I was warned that the refund would be delayed because I hadn't got authorisation for the return! I declined and asked to just be refunded. 50 days after placing the order there was still no sign of my refund. I had to process a chargeback through my credit card company as Digital River had broken multiple commitments to refund me and I had lost all trust in that company. To cap it all, after my credit card company had processed my chargeback, I was advised by them that Digital River was disputing the chargeback and they may have to take the money out of my account again. Thankfully this hasn't happened yet but it has been desperately frustrating having to deal with this gross incompetence, or a complete lack of ethics, or both, over the last four months. I will never buy a Lenovo product again and I will never give business to any company that displays the poor judgement to outsource their customer service or fulfilment to Digital River.

STAY WELL AWAY

Reviewed on 2021-05-08T12:23:34

PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY DONT GO THROUGH WHAT I DID. I bought a lenovo laptop on 16th August 2019,it went wrong within 16 days, also paid for 2 yrs premium care on top. I rang tech help was asked to do all sorts of things i had not a clue but followed instructions, finally was asked to do complete system restore I didnt know how so aske tech help id they would stay on phone and help was told didnt have time, so looked it up on google. fault not fixed, continually emailing D/river got a load of what i now know to be excuses, lies, and just fob offs. Like others i got all ther emails with "we are sorry for inconvenience, we have esculated to a higher level, would never hear no more. By this time it had got to the end of 2019, still nothing, I kept on trying with them but just got more lies and excuses, so time progressed and it was back end of 2020. now why i do not know but my wife ordered a laptop from them also, because of a specific health condition the laptop she ordered was ideal small but mostly light as she had to have it on her knee, cant work from a desk/table. anyway this was set up all was ok.i continued using my laptop that kept crashing, then after many emails and phone conversations, they agreed to collect it and send it away for repair, they provided me with a link to keep an update on the repair, only trouble was no body updated the link. I obtained a phone number for the place in warrington, they told me what was going on then they said it has now been shipped back to me by UPS, so I asked when it was coming they couldnt say, so rang ups, they had not collected anything from that place for me nor had they been asked to. I rang the repair place they insisted it had been shipped. the laptop was lost, but turned up out of the blue 5 days later. so i fired it up, Lo and Behold it still had the same fault plus another one!! so I rang lenovo/digital river asked for a manager/supervisor, was given a total load of rubbish by them so asked for my money back, I was told the period for refund had run out, i explained that yes thats right but only because you have been stalling me. I was told I need permission to return it, I asked why do I need permission to return a fault item? I kept emailing them, finally I received an email on 17th December 2020 giving me permission to return it, and explaine what happens next. they said within 3/5 business days I will receive a link from TNT to fill in and arrange collection. Now while all this was going my wifes laptop had gone badly wrong after about 2 months it was getting so hot she could not bear it on her knee, then it would shut down through over heating, so emailed D/R again about this one, and got permission to return yet another faulty product. back to mine I never received a link from TNT so kept ringing them they had at no time ever been asked to collect from me. I told d/r this and they said we are having a job contacting TNT we cant contact them, funny i have no trouble. so and email dated 27 december 2020 saying i will get a returns link in 3/5 days a load of lies I actually got the link from them on 28th Febuary 2021. In the meantime early January 2021 my wifes laptop was returned, and we got the money back in Febuary. in all it took about 4 monoths to get my wifes money back. Im still trying to get mine. So having got the link I arranged collection it was collected on 2nd March 2021 and i have proof of delivery they had the laptop back on the 5th March, I was told that once they have the goods money will be refunded within 5/7 business days. so now they have my money my goods I was told refund had failed, i asked why they never would say, I had every excuse under the sun. I was blatently lied to by supervisors, and can prove it. I finally threaten them with court action, but for this i couldnt get legal aid, i contacted trading standards they gave me a letter template to send to them waring of further action, I also had my bank involved, I emailed ceo of both lenovo and digital river but got no response. I finally got the money in my bank on the 5th May 2021, and that for a product that was faulty after 16 days in August 2019. the stress and hassle this caused me i am a senior citizen and can do without all this. I sent the letter i was advised to send by recorded delivery, I received a recorded delivery back from lenovo in Bratislava just saying sorry they knew nothing of this, which proves its all down to digital river. so if you plan on buying and payment is via digital river PLEASE DO NOT PROCEED.

Why does Lenovo use Digital River?

Reviewed on 2021-05-07T16:33:22

Sometimes I wonder why a top brand like Lenovo with such good products will associate their workflowswith a company li Digital River. Like most reviews here i found the service desk unhelpful and without facts, infringed with delays at each stage, unwilling to act and support the customer, provide conflicting excuses, had no viable escalation process and are totally unresponsive when it comes to refunds. If you are serious about order-fulfilment on you Leno products, I will recommend staying away from Digital River. Hopefully, I will get my money refunded within the 7 days but that is very unlikely, if the processes experienced today is in anyway the culture of practice within this outfit. You have been warned.
