The trim of car and who owned it before has a lot to do with reliability

Reviewed on 2021-04-15T20:45:09

I have owned 5 chevys in my lifetime so far I have a 2003 trailblazer it's billet proof got it as a winter beater for a family mover in the lake effect storm fronts.Very reliable v6 engine LTZ, the other car I had was a 2013 Chevy Malibu LT that car was a little iffy owned it for 4 years bought it used with 32K miles then kept it till about 80K miles cause it was nickel and diming me starting at about 72K solid car was abused for 3 years before I bought it, Now on my 3rd Chevy after I had an incident in August just was able to get a really good price on a 2017 Chevy Bolt EV Premier for under 20K very nice car has some quirks but glad I didn't get the LT also have a few dents and scratches on it but the only problem so far is not bad get an error for transmission every once in a while love the Chevy product just have to know about the trim

I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ RS and I…

Reviewed on 2021-04-14T15:10:20

I have a 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ RS and I was DUPED. Bad credit and a totaled car roped me into a $15,000 loan with a 20.99% APR rate.At 52,000 miles, my turbo started underboosting, just one month out of the 30 day warranty. Fast forward two years and at 82,000 miles, and I’ve already replaced my cooling system at $500 and now my engine because of the turbo, at $2,259. When I found out that the Cruze is notorious for these problems and it was so bad that they were discontinued for consumer use and are now only sold in fleets for commercial, I was IRATE. I, a 26 year old, disabled woman who works 12hrs a week and is fortunate enough to have a partner whose salary he and I can rely on, is supposed to be responsible for replacing GM’s mass-produced pile of crap with another piece of mass-produced pile of crap, when they’re the company with millions of dollars and the ones who made it? Sure the parts through Chevrolet’s dealership are warrantied for 2 years, but I guarantee you at 2 years and one day the turbo will be crap again and another $1200-$2300 will be needed. I spoke with a gentleman who had a 2013 Chevy Cruze ans replaced his turbo THREE times before having to get it repossessed. I had to cash in a life insurance policy to pay for HALF of my car’s repairs. I almost lost my job as a home-health behavioral health professional because I no longer had reliable transportation. Not only that, but it has been a month and I still don’t have my car back because repairs are expected to be paid in full before they return your car to you and GM promised me $870 towards my repairs but have now gone dark. I feel swindled, violated, helpless and betrayed. This has been the classic “used car horror story” but at just 52,000 miles in 5 years, I thought I wouldn’t have major problems for at least several years. Chevy, I want my money back. You’ve taken advantage of thousands of people who put their trust on your product, and instead you’ve ruined hundreds of peoples’ financial stability by selling a known piece of junk. Do the right thing, issue a recall and reimburse people who have had to replace their engine, especially those who had to replace it SEVERAL times! Shame on you! You don’t want to issue me the $2300 because “it’s a lot of money” - I AM AWARE OF THAT BECAUSE I AM NOT A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY AND YOU EXPECT ME TO PAY IT?? Do the right thing. I will never buy Chevy or GMC again, nor will my family!

Chevrolet builds a exception vehicle.

Reviewed on 2021-02-01T00:35:53

I've owned 4 Chevrolet Vehicles and 16 other vehicles from other manufacturers in the last 50 years. Haveto say the Chevrolet Volt that I bought new in 2012 is by far the best. After 8 years and 58K hard city miles the brakes are still over 90% ... or like new. The quiet smooth powerful effortless acceleration is much better than the V8s that I have owned.... combine that with the no shifting drive and no ICE comes close! I feel Chevrolet builds a very good vehicle for a reasonable price but the Volt is a exceptional vehicle that was put out of production by misunderstanding and unfair trade. If you wanted to buy a Volt in China, Japan .. etc you would have to pay twice what it cost in the US... while the US gives $7500 and more for foreign companies per electric vehicle... how long would they sell the Prius if it cost $80,000? I use less than 10gallons of gasoline per year and $25/month electricity. I feel Chevrolet is building the best all around vehicles for the price right now. And I still agree with 128,000 SAE automotive engineers around the world who voted the Chevrolet Volt as 'The best engineered car on the road'.

Chevy does not care about its loyal customers

Reviewed on 2021-01-29T17:17:09

Over the years I have bought exclusivly Chevrolet vehicles for my familly. I have bought the following cars - 2000 Malibu,2002 Venture, 2010 Traverse, 2011 Cruze, 2015 Traverse, 2016 Trax, 2019 Trax, 2020 Blazer Recently (in 2018) , the GM remote start app, that used to be free with the basic plan, became a paid product. $15/month. When I purchased my 2019 Trax I advised them that I had been a loyal customer for years and requested the basic plan. They granted this to me and told me that they would do this because I was a loyal customer for so many years. I recently bought a 2020 Blazer and they denied this request. I buy 8 cars in 20 years from Chevy and this is how they treat me? I can guarantee I will never buy anohter chevrolet again. Chevrolet does not care about its loyal customers.

Do not buy a used Chevrolet.

Reviewed on 2020-10-16T17:01:18

Do not buy a second hand Chevrolet in the UK. I had to get rid of my Aveo that was only 7 years old as I could not get a new exhaust. They are supposed to continue supplying parts to the UK market even though they no longer sell new cars here. But they don’t care. Having sent multiple emails to the company no one has even bothered to respond. Lazy and inconsiderate. Do not consider buying a used Chevrolet as you are unlikely to be able to complete any standard wear and tear repairs.

SO NICe - Sonic Hatchback - Chevy Marketing, not so much!

Reviewed on 2020-09-02T19:28:58

I LOVE my 2013 Sonic Hatchback. I call it my lil go-cart. It's wicked fun to drive.I swear the seats were custom made for my butt. It's more comfortable than the other 10 or so cars I tried before I bought it. I can't understand how they can keep the cheap Spark and discontinue this GEM!!! In the Spark, I could hear every pebble hitting the undercarriage, and the interior was wicked cheap. It wasn't nearly as comfortable as the Sonic. Big, BIG mistake Chevy!!! BUT... I HATE CHEVY MARKETING!!! I've tried for the last 7 years to get off their mail list and they ignore EVERY Request!!! I've already stopped using their service dept. I am SO SICK of getting their "Certified Service" mailings and they won't stop. I've tried opting out by calling GMC, The Dealer and using the gmcontactpreferences dot com, but these arrogant jerks have ignored my requests for 7 YEARS!!! What a waste of paper. I am sure I scared the crap out of the last person to answer when I called AGAIN to get off the mailing list. I miss AWD, and won't miss the marketing, so I'm selling a car I love, and switching to Honda!

Pulled out of UK and left their customers high and dry

Reviewed on 2020-06-23T09:50:31

We own a 2011 Chevrolet Spark The clutch pedal has snapped which I believe is a manufacturing defect and is subject of a recall. There is also another recall for I believe bonnet (hood) catch corrosion. I am trying to find a garage to help with these problems. I have tried twice to contact the telephone number given on the Chevrolet UK website; The first call to a man called Mohammed took my details and said I would receive an email in 2-3 days. I received no such email so today called again speaking to a man called Faisel, he informed me there was no record of my earlier call, took my details again gave me a case number, and gave me details of a local garage for recalls/warranty work I contacted this garage only to be told they are not a warranty garage. This is an unacceptable level of customer service from major vehicle manufacturer. If this is how Chevrolet/GM treats it's customers then my advice to all is to buy elsewhere Update been over a week now, still no email/reply from either telephone help line or the email enquiry I posted.
