when I first bought a car from Carsdirect in 2010 it was a wonderful experience. No hugging ,no negotiating no up-selling etc. I was given the address of a dealer to go (after paying $500 deposit) and simply picked up my car. Fast forward 10 years: the site was probably bought by some "car dealer group" which connects you with local dealers followed by endless emails, text and phone calls-another words: back to the old, dreaded ways of car buying process. Don't give them your contacts-just use the site to check the options, colors, specs, invoice pricing, etc of your dream car.read more

emailed the other day asking if the car was still for sale then travelled 130 mile to look at the car.the car was sanitized ready for us to view, drive, what ever we wanted. we had the keys handed to us and then told to take our time and just give the guys a shout when we finished "No Hassle at all". to be honest the car was as described everything was what we expected. before we left we had a walk around and they had many people viewing the cars. they are the first we have visited with out the hassle they do actually leave you alone, it was so nice.
We did not buy the car as it was £300 over our budget then needed the £150 tax plus told they ask for £50 to prep the car.
So as they dont offer a discount for cash transaction even without a trade in, i thought £13k was enough to pay for the car. shame as i would have bought the car. Maybe its down to this covid and not getting to discuss who knowsread more

CarsDirect.com either sold or gave my name and email address to many spamming companies that have nothing to do with cars.In less than a week, I have received twenty-one emails from: Terminix, Dish Network, Andersen Replacement Windows, home warranty coverage provider, face mask seller, credit score company, roofing company, Sam's Club, Harry's Razors, Fidelity Life Insurance, ADT provider, Quicken Loans, and Mortgage News.
I know that CarsDirect is responsible because I gave exclusively to them a shortened version of my name. All the spamming companies listed above used that abbreviated name in their emails to me.read more

CarsDirect.com is nothing more than a dealer referral service. You can build and get MSRP price on a car,no different than going to the car brands website, then it will refer you to one of their "trusted" (read who pays them for the local referral) dealers.
I was looking for info on a 2020 Ford Super Duty truck, CarsDirect was advertised as being able to give you the dealer invoice cost, which it could not per their live chat person. The CarsDirect vehicle build tool also was flawed, it would not correctly apply packages and add on items like you could on the Ford website.read more
POOR SERVICE!!!!! Want to cancel deal within 7 days!!! They do not want to!!!!!! Broken car!!! Engin light on!!!!
Reviewed on 2020-01-06T14:04:47
After 2 weeks of delay, Cars Direct delivered my car on Saturday 2 November during the World Cup Rugby Finals.I noticed multiple faults on the car, none of which were declared by Cars Direct when making the deal. The main concern is that the car was delivered to me with the engine light on. I tried calling them with no success and the driver who delivered the vehicle said I should take it up with them on the Monday. On the same day of delivery, I made a list of all the faults and sent a what'sapp to one of the agents. On Monday, I couldn't get through to them. They were always busy in meetings or unavailable and promised to call but they did not. After days of fighting I told them within my 7 days period to cancel the contract and get a different car. They declined this request and said they needed to be given a chance to fix the car. I insisted that the car goes to a Nissan dealership to be fixed. Nissan gave them a quote and they said it was too expensive and that the car will be sent to one of their approved mechanics. Nissan had to repair the brakes of the car as the car's brake was finished. The wiper of the car was also broken. They wonderd how did this car get its road worthy certificate?? I work and stay in Port Elizabeth and all of a sudden Cars Direct had no approved mechanics in PE and the car had to go to East London they said Nissans qoute was to expensive. At first, they did not want to give me the name or location of the mechanic and I only got the name when my car was returned and I had seen it on the paperwork. They got me a rental in the meantime and had my car in for 2 weeks for repairs. On the first day that I received my car back, the engine light went on yet again and the car stalled. The car came back with damage on the body (many scratches and it also looks like they bumped the car) and the majority of what they promised would be fixed was not fixed. There were also lose engin parts laying in the back of my boot??????
Today is 6 January 2020 and I am sick of phoning them, sick of not being able to get hold of them and sick of trying to cancel this deal. I am paying a hell of a lot of money for this car. This stops NOW!!
