Not the same company it used to be

Reviewed on 2021-05-10T21:18:28

I bought my first Cannondale bike a little more than 15 years ago when Cannondale was best known for their innovations and for making the best aluminum frames. This is when they innovated the Lefty or the molded aluminum / carbon technology in the Six-13 and later the System Six bikes, and were the first to put disc brakes on CX bikes. Early on I had a couple of issues which were addressed quickly by their support team. One issue required the replacing of the frame, which Cannondale handled professionally. Unfortunately, Cannondale no longer seems to honor the life time warranty they give on frames (seem like I an not the only one complaining about the life time warranty no longer being honored). My bike's frame has corroded in multiple places, but Cannondale, from looking at a few photos, determined that the damage was caused by my negligence to wipe sweat of the frame and not a manufacturing defect. Definitely leaves a sour experience after spending almost $30,000 on bikes from Cannondale.

My CADD 12's seat post is welded solid

Reviewed on 2021-03-09T12:43:14

My CADD 12's seat post is welded solid, apparently my fault, if I had known that according to CannodaleUK i needed to adjust the seat post monthly to avoid the frame they designed and built becoming welded to its seat post and now next to unsalable. Life time frame warranty next to useless, why didn't they design a sleeve for the seat post instead of encouraging the buyer to use an carbon paste. Should i have replaced the paste every month. I dont know it certainly inst in the instruction book. Now i am left with a bike i cant ride or sell. Thank you Cannondale.

Very Bad customer service and after sales

Reviewed on 2021-02-19T22:42:25

I've been a Cannondale customer since the 90's. I owned many high end Cannondale MTB's. Jekyll's 26inch,Carbon Scalpel 26 and 29inch, old Super V, different Hardtails, ... I started buying Cannondale because of innovation and customer service. 2 Things they completely lost. Especially the latter. If you pay over $10.000 for a bike I expect to find service parts and help if things break after 2 years. Yeah Cannondale bikes look nice but so do many other brands nowadays

I bought a bike in 2018 Synapse Carbon but the company are rude and arrogant

Reviewed on 2021-01-06T11:29:23

I bought a bike in 2018 Synapse Carbon. The bike is fantastic but the staff at Cannondale are apaling. The level of customers services and engagement is 0. It is hard to tell if they have a clue about bikes riding or if they appreciate business of the world outside their little bubble. They certainly don't seem interested. I have worked relentlessly this year to develop a name and share what I have done on my bike. I have nothing. I lost my job due to a training accident. I have tried to reinvent myself in triathlon and sports media and coaching and I have developed a name registering some of the best times in the country. Are they interested or have they even talked to me, no of course not! Cannondale ignore you as a customer and a person unlike brands such as Specialized. I share posts review bikes and teach the benefits. I do not know why I try and I certainly can't develop. myself as business or as athlete because of them. In fact they make it more difficult which is not good when living in poverty recovering from a head abscess. But the staff would not care to think or consider the impact their has or the affect on someone livelihood or if they are being discriminatory. Rude and arrogant. They make me feel unwelcome and unloved. Their notions of community are 0 apart from in their imaginary world they inhabit. You will feel alienated and asking why I bought on. I will not be getting a Cannondale next time as they know only how to turn good times into bad. I wonder what kind of patronising response I will get.

There is a joke

Reviewed on 2020-11-03T21:45:14

There is a joke. Nothing else. Bike for 11000 danish krone, seat broken, cables from dropper seat,no on track - impossible to set it on, without changing all cables. Contact? First go on Cannondale website and try to ask for something important. It is a joke, and overpaid joke for sure!

The first 18 month with my Cannondale FS-I Carbon 4

Reviewed on 2020-10-10T06:47:03

January 13th 2019: Bike ordered at Bike shop with expected delivery mid/end February 2019.Payed €2.799,- January end: Delivery delayed with no final delivery date April 4th 2019: Bike delivered April 17th 2019: After 5 rides frame brakes while riding. Besides broken frame, rear wheel and rear shifter are damaged April 18th 2019: Bike taken to Bike shop for repair May 8th 2019: Bike repaired and ready (3 weeks without the bike) August 2019: Paint start to come off the frame. Small dents primarily on the back of the back. Addressing this to Cannondale, they do not have any touch up paint or any other solution to the problem. In general, the paint is very "Fragile" and easily damaged. February 2nd 2020: Front suspension bearing changed. Worn out. March 3rd 2020: Rear wheel cassette hub stuck, no freewheeling. Rear wheel taken to bike shop for repair (Guarantee repair) March 4th 2020: Rear wheel repaired. Only minor adjustments of rear shifter needed. March 29th 2020: Rear cassette and chain changed - worn out. April 7th 2020: Front suspension full service. Necessary to maintain Guarantee. Cost approx. €330,-. Seems to be a fixed price, controlled by Cannondale. Price is the same no matter which bike shop you ask. May 29th 2020: Crank axel worn out. Changing requires upgrade to SRAM DUB system. New bottom bracket and crankset installed. June 23rd 2020: Small crakes in rear wheel rim found at nearly each spoke. Rear wheel taken to bike shop for repair (Guarantee repair) October 10th 2020: Rear wheel still at bike shop with no ETD. According to bike shop, mainly because Cannondale and WTB (rim manufacture) cannot agree who should pay for the repair. (109 days without a rear wheel and ability to ride the bike) Conclusion: I have owned the bike for 18 month now, but effectively have only been able to ride it for 14 month due to repairs. To me it seems that Cannondale and its subcontractors are not geared to handle service, repairs on guarantee, etc. Further one would expect the build quality and paint job to be of higher quality for a bike in this price range. My old Cube Acid bike has more rides and kilometers and yet way less maintenance cost and ride problems. Only thing that works really well is the Lefty fork. It delivers what they promise. Only negative thing is the high maintenance cost on the fork. Is bike worth the money: No. Would I recommend this bike: No.

So disappointed with a recent purchase…

Reviewed on 2020-10-03T08:26:35

So disappointed with a recent purchase and lack of support. First time out on gravel bike, good road,20 miles and chain slipped off 4 times. Second time out, cranks stripped completely after a large hill resulting in 13 mile walk/ push back. Cannot find the replacement parts needed, dealers cannot help claiming they are unable to order parts for micro shift bike, original retailer not interested, cannondale tech emailed several times no response. This is a 2021 topstone 4, selling at £900, beware if something goes wrong you will be left with an unusable bike! Seeking chargeback on credit card as unfit for purpose ... I’ll update with how I this pans out but please be careful for a reputable brand there is NO support out there ?

Bikes are OK, but, rest...

Reviewed on 2020-08-11T14:36:10

Bikes are OK. But customer service and repair service, dealers are a huge joke. Bought the bikes (two Topstones)3 weeks ago, one of the bikes rear dropout got broken and asked to dealer to replace it.. for 2 weeks, there is no part on hand/stock and I can not use 3 weeks old bike for last 2 weeks. Talked with Cannondale customer support - which is another ridiculous story- didn't helped that much. I complained about the ETA, they send me an email with the dropouts photo - and said this is the part I need. And I was like "so? how that photo of the part supposed to hep with delayed service for my 3 weeks old bike?" Like I said, bikes are great (like many other brands), but, after sales services is joke. Don't advise.
