What does BuildFire do?

Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, BuildFire is changing the game for businesses in how they build, manage, and deploy mobile apps. Let's face it, smartphones are not going anywhere, more and more companies are starting to leverage the power of mobile apps. However building an app typically doesn't come without its fair share of risk and a huge price tag. BuildFire solves that challenge by providing an app development platform that significantly reduces the cost and barrier to entry for people looking to build a mobile app. Our platform powers over 10,000 mobile apps with millions of users using our apps every day.

DO NOT BUILD YOUR APP WITH THEM!

Reviewed on 2020-10-16T12:25:17

Why did I not read the reviews before signing up?? What a complete waste of money, energy and time. They don't care about you or your business. They lie a lot and their communication is beyond poor. Too many technical issues and little is done to resolve it. You'll always get "we are looking into it" and then you won't hear from them again. Too expensive for what you get. DO NOT BUILD YOUR APP WITH THEM! You've been warned.

Deceptive Practices

Reviewed on 2020-10-06T20:53:30

It was only after subscribing to access the locked sections that I discovered that the app builder was not working.Their instructions were not congruent with the actual app builder and their subscription fees were not disclosed. They are willing to provide features as part of a package deal only if you call them out on false advertising. The app builder worked so well in the initial build sections that I assumed unlocking the paid features was going to be a continuation of the same type of performance.

Terrible Service and A Wast of Money

Reviewed on 2020-09-20T21:25:33

I have been waiting for 3+ months for the app launch. Their customer team knows nothing about theprogress and their development team keeps making mistakes driving App Store and Google play declining the submission. No reasonable explanation to customers but only endless waiting.

Price jumped from $637 to $1908 per year

Reviewed on 2020-09-15T13:37:50

I had been using Buildfire for years. It is a good product (not great). It had a few price increasesover the years but when I didn't update my credit card info they closed my account in less than 2 weeks of notice. I updated the card info but the new cost for the same service went form $637 per year to $1908 per year. That is simply not fair. Update: I received an email from Tim at Buildfire explaining that in the terms, here is a copy/paste "Therefore, we may, without prior notice, change the Service; change the pricing of the service; add or delete features of the Service, to you or to Users generally; or create usage limits for the Service." We have changed to AppyPie, couldn't be happier and cost is 35% of Buildfire.

They dont care about small business! price gougers!

Reviewed on 2020-08-02T15:50:53

STAY AWAY! Sales guy was antagonizing and condescending! Spoke like a boiler room type closer!Pricing has shot up through the roof during the past six months. Not a good solution for small business at all. They want to charge an arm and a leg yearly!!!! For basically a website builder for mobile phones. Yes, it has a lot of features but there pricing is still OUTRAGEOUS. They keep raising the price during Covid instead of dropping the price to help small business grow in such a time of uncertainty. Lost respect for buildfire until they actually try and help people vs price gouge!

Good Platform but treat with caution

Reviewed on 2020-07-26T08:23:18

Treat with caution. Nice platform and good business accelerator For proofing ideas but not a long term bet.You have to stay in their tramlines - outside these they cease to function. Watch the terms of business that they imbed in every App - they will cause any Europe’s business problems.... Overall feels like a standard US West Coast start up - lots of sales gloss, 80% of a solid product but zero depth in staff knowledge on display outside their script To much use of adjectives - Fantastic, Awesome etc no where near enough real client focus

Content Disappeared, no recourse/refund/communication

Reviewed on 2020-06-13T22:19:09

It is a beautiful platform and though a small learning curve to use the product really was able toalmost complete a finished product myself on the lowest paid tier. Reason for 1 star review: there's no point for a beautiful product if all your content disappears. That's right...disappeared. With extremely frustrating vague replies for several weeks now and no sign of return of the months of work put in. Customer service is essentially appalling.

BuildFire is amazing for the following…

Reviewed on 2020-04-28T11:32:13

BuildFire is amazing for the following reasons: 1. Easy to use, dynamic platform with all the plugins you need.  2.Dont need to be a 'graphic designer' to make it look dope, so user friendly.  3. Customer service is ridiculous. David, Max, Demetrius, and crew. Fast turnaround, follow-ups, and the main thing is , my questions always get answered 4. Price is right. For all the plug-ins and support you get, this is a no brainer. I demo'd the other top players and BF is by far the best. 5. My app was published within a week, and they give you the tools to manage the users and send push notifications! There's a free trial so you should at least try it out!
