Very Very bad website. I joined since 2009, after 12 years, there is not much improvement on functionality.Yet they have increase the price by so many times. From $60USD to $300USD, not to $750USD when it's not even a physical shop front. It's just a web site host worth $10. They see you have big transaction and charge you heavily. If you just start your business, get it right! DONT use Big Commerce. Not to mention, the web site is rubbish with problems.read more

Bad start with Big Commerce.
Easy enough to build a really good looking website, however I had a bad experience with billing.I was looking to setup my emails and I clicked through from the Big Commerce platform, I was trying to find out some more information on pricing and without any pre warning I had apparently entered into a 12 month contract for G Suite and my first payment was taken. I was already logged into Gmail and this all happened by me clicking one button and I reiterate there was no mention of costs of entering into a contract! It was fraudulent.
I spoke to the billing team and they said it was my fault and would not refund for me the $24 for the first payment. I didn't even want to use G suite! I said I would dispute the transaction with Paypal and was told I would be suspended if I did that. Well that it is exactly what happened.read more

No. Dont listen to the 'Good' reviews'. Or make sure you listen to the bad reviews.I M A REAL PERSON WHO TRIED TO START A BUSINESS WITH THEM! By the way, you have to sign in with your Google email or Facebook to comment. This is why peoples name is coming up instead of company names! Use your head you stupid commentators who post good reviews and bash bad reviews without thinking!

Another - stay away especailly if your willing to trial it after choosing a plan. The apps dont disclose info that is important to the app usage. For example, i found out after installing app and seeing the price plans that they limited the products you can import. I explained to bigcommerce that their apps are no good so I need a refund. They said it wasnt a good enough reason to refund so it was declined even after explaining that their apps didnt disclose anything about the import limitations they didnt listen. They thought 'hey why not steal and keep his money even if he cancels. This way weve taken his money and made a quick profit'

Big Commerce diverting Customers Payments to unknown accounts Glitch?

I have two Websites on Big Commerce, the Issues are currently ongoing and have not been fixed,the first website I started in 2014 ,the second I started in 2016,, April 18 2021 we noticed we were not receiving all our payments that were manually generated by our sales staff taking phone orders that went back over 4 days there were several payments missing we have valid Transaction IDs clicking on the Transaction ID automatically takes us over to the Payment in the Merchant Center and that specific payment, Very Nice Feature, although on every manual payment we received a Transaction Number Not Found Notice , We contacted the Merchant Center and we were able to speak directly with internal Investigations after literally less than 10 minutes we were told by our Merchant Center that this is not an Issue on the Merchant center Side and Big Commerce will need to handle it They stated it is definitely Big Commerce Payment Transfer Glitch in their Software based on their Gateway, My Merchant Center stated they can see the payment but its not in Our corporate accounts (Keep in Mind this is happening to both our Websites)
I proceeded to contact Big Commerce Support on 4/21/21 when I found out about the missing payments , Big Commerce had closed for a company wide meeting , there was no Chat ,Phone or email availability , Completely Shut Down and they actually terminate the call after they end their Statement. I waited until the following morning and contact Big Commerce Customer Technical support via Phone. I was greeted by a "Technical Support Rep Tier 1" that stated he would help me any way he could, I thought this is great ok , So I explained my concerns that 30 payments all manual payments taken by staff were not hitting our Merchant account as they immediately have done in the past ,the Transaction ID hyperlink is stating not found, I explained the response my Merchant Center stated to me about a possible Glitch in the gateway api at Big Commerce , I asked to be transferred to Engineering and Integration but he stated he could not do that and had to run it to Tier 2 Tech due to Protocol , I informed him that was a waste of time and that my Merchant Center Investigation Department instructed me to ask for Engineering and Integration since they were the ones my Merchant Center worked with when they ( Big Commerce) designed the software and protocol to accept this Merchant Centers API, Here is where I am Now, I tried calling on the 4/21/21 , No go as explained, on 4/22/21 I spoke with 4 Different Big Commerce Representatives I cant call them Technical Staff since they did not have any Technical Experience to handle this problem so at the 4th Representative yet again and at around 3:30pm I demanded that he open an Engineering Ticket since their Tier setup is a Joke ,He stated he was able to contact the engineering dept and that they opened a ticket but I had to refer to the original Case number. Here it is 4/23/21. I have 30 Customers that paid for Products that I must ship, I see the orders in Big Commerce but No Payments and bad Transaction IDs, This creates a Very Big issue, I can not get anyone at Big Commerce to reply directly to my Concerns about a fix and when ,the last Rep did inform me that their are other Sellers stores experiencing the same issues although he didn't say how many when I asked.
The Credit Card Merchant Center I use is Paypal They have a Fantastic program for high volume sellers with Low rates and their Integration and API is nice, if your Sales Staff accepts payments over the Phone / manual payments Check to see that those payments actually made it to your account , I do not know if this is a Big Commerce Glitch with Paypal or if it is with other Merchant centers, Its happening to us and other sellers. Do NOT use big commerce. I had a big commerce store for 5 or more years. After 4 years,they TRIPLED my monthly rate, and i was so far in that it took me a year to redesign a new website and end the service with them. I tried reaching out to reason with them, but they wouldn't budge on the monthly rate ($350/month!!!). It is outrageous! The worst part is, their platform is ridden with problems. I can't tell you how many customers called in to say they couldn't checkout or the order said it could not ship. I was constantly trying to troubleshoot the issues and every single one of the problems related back to BC's platform. Again, take it from a long term user -- STAY AWAY!!read more

Claimes to have good customer service. In reality you must register and get yourself free trial,join their email list etc. to contact any kind of customer service. After that there is 3 options:
- Send message to chat that has good old "I try to google information from the site" chat bot and no real people.
- Call them and automated message will ask you to go to support forum.
- Support forum, where most of topics are unanswered and if someone replies it is just link to the some info site, not reply to your problem.
Also, when you set up to their spam messages, there is multiple different versions that you have to cancel one by one. Earlier you had to give your bank account info to register so lot of people accidently "bought" themself this thing.
So yeah... BigCommerce is most recomended platform as they have great customer service. But in reality they don't have any kind of customer service.read more
