We all know parents need to read to their kids at night, but what about math? Bedtime Math is a fast-growing nonprofit whose goal is to get kids to love math as much as playtime or dessert. Every night, we send out a wacky new math problem for kids and parents to read together – by email, on our website, and on our free app. Volunteers can also sign up to lead one of our Crazy 8s clubs, and provide an after-school experience that shows kids that math can be playful and social. Bedtime Math is a nonprofit operating foundation, funded by charitable donations made by private donors and the proceeds from founder Laura Overdeck's Bedtime Math books. Our mission is to help kids love numbers so they can handle the math in real life. Bedtime Math does not award grants to other nonprofit organizations or to individuals; it funds its own charitable activities, such as publishing the free daily math problem and activities for families, and producing programs like Crazy 8s.
