Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Ordered a watering can that was not scheduled to be in stock until 1 month from the order date.Ordered other items to get free shipping. 2 weeks later, the other items have shipped. Now I get an email that there was an issue with the credit card payment and that my order is cancelled for an item that is no longer in stock. Firstly, there was no email notification to change the payment method if that was actually the issue. (I don’t understand why that would be the case since they were able to charge the other items without any problems.) They then offer me 10% off to apologize for the inconvenience. I had ordered the item when it was 20% off. I asked them to at least honor that with free shipping and I will order the item in another in stock color. They just said no and ended the chat. So unhelpful and infuriating with the slowness of their responses. Definitely never ordering from Anthropologie again.

I'm so surprised at how bad Anthropologie's customer service is. I ordered a chair a few weeks back with a very long lead time of June for the delivery.I then got an email saying it would arrive in Novemeber. I assumed that they had written the dates in the US order so got in contact. It was delayed until July. 4 months away from the order. On top of this, every single email has been a painful and completely pointless source of information. I am still not clearer on anything. They tell me to email the furniture department, who then tells me to call the furniture department. A number that when you call tells you you will be charged for the call... I'm so surprised considering how well perceived they are as a brand. Really poor customer service. Hoping that the product is any good.

Wrong item sent 3 times - rubbish!

Ordered a set of wine glasses for my sisters birthday and the order confirmation came through correct.Then the dispatched email came through with a different set of wine glasses on. I contacted the customer services who said no problem and they’d send me the correct item. The confirmation for this came through with the same incorrect glasses on. I contacted them again and sent a photo and the item reference of what I actually wanted sending out and I’ve received the incorrect ones again!! Customer services are now saying my original order is for the wrong glasses and are refusing to acknowledge this or rectify the issue. Awful customer service - will not help any further despite not resolving my issue. Expensive items anyway so would expect for the company to value their customers but clearly not!

Incapable of sending the correct item …

Having shopped with anthropology for many years. I have been very disappointed with the customer service I have received.I ordered a cardigan, only to be sent a skirt instead. Ok mistakes happen. I was told the cardigan would be sent instead. Three skirts later I have been told they can not exchange this item. It was implied that I made the wrong order as I have the email to confirm the sale they were proven wrong. I don’t own a printer so having to continually print returns labels became a problem. As we are in the middle of a pandemic and in lockdown this was not easy. Anthropology came up with no solution to this problem. I asked for a pre paid label to be sent to me. I was told take it to the post office. This is not the post office’s problem. Lesson learnt. I will support local businesses that go out of there way to help and provide rather than a larger company like anthropology who have clearly lost their way with good customer services.

I buy a lot from their online store. The one and only thing I ever returned was a headband that was on the sale for £18.It was too tight on my head, so returned it with the free returns label provided. I never got a refund. They denied they got it back, and asked me a tracking number, which I did not know I had to record as it was already a repaid label. I never got that refund. Now this week I bought a Cardigan for £98, I was expecting a high quality piece... it is no better than a high street piece that would cost me £20-£30... it was majority Acrylic which is a bad material to make knitwear from as it mis-shapes and pills so easily. Even so, the finish is pretty bad as well...not much craftmanship in the garment tbh. I'm very underwhelmed. I feel robbed. I'm actually scared to return it, as they're not exactly helpful, and I'm worried I'll loose my £98. The quality of their garments have gone downhill that is for sure.

So as a Anthro Member you get a birthday discount usually. I had to ask where mine was at which point I got told to buy my order then pass on the order number and they'll refund the difference....which never happened. After several emails where they apologised and said they'd look into it and then never came back to me to explain anything I blew a fuse an demanded an answer by which they said I they were not going to reimburse me because the item was already discounted. None of which I was told beforehand and none of which applied historically. Very shady and poor customer service, this dragged on over Christmas all the way to February! Really impressed! So if you get your order and you're happy it's grand but atrocious otherwise! All pretty on the outside and ugly on the inside is my experience. Anthropolgie needs to address how they treat their customers and how they do business. Not impressed.

Anthropologie,the worst experience ever shopping online. Two months ago, saw 3 items online and available to buy,put them in basket, completed c card details, then 2 items came up as no longer available, although still available to buy on website for 3 days after that, Attempted to buy again, but coming up as no longer available when trying to put in c card details. Charging postage, although all shops are closed is really annoying. Ordered lovely cardigan 3 weeks ago, sale went through OK. Arrived last week. Sent skirt by mistake. No available customer services rep in UK only USA. Rep gave no apology, cardigan no longer available. No compensation offered. Will have to print off their address label and arrange return postage. My family will not be buying from this company again. Very dissatisfied customer

Just be aware they will charge you the item you returned after 6 months and put you in their blacklist.I've always a very loyal customer of Anthropologie, I've been frequently shopping on their site since 2014. Earlier last year I bought a couple of things and one of a dress it wasn't my size but I still bought them because it looks pretty I want to give it a chance. Then, of course, it's too big so I returned it. 6 months later I saw there was a new charge $130 from Anthropologie, I felt weird because I didn't shop on their site that month. And after I talked with them I just realised that they said they didn't receive the dress I returned so they charged me 6 months later. This is absolutely ridiculous, because first of all I wasn't only returned that dress, I returned overall 3-4 items, put them in the same box, they received the rest of them but not the dress? I asked them to give me the proof the dress is not in the box or the weight record of the box from the post office, they couldn't provide (so please remember always take a photo when you returning stuff, but in this case, they just want to overcharge you, doesn't matter what you can proof). Second, if they didn't receive it they should contact me immediately instead of charging me 6 months later without any notification. I contacted them at least 3, 4 times they always tell me it's a systemic error and they'll refund me but it never happened. What even worse is after they framed you, charged you the item you never have, they put you on their blacklist. While I'm still waiting for their investigation, I found all the recent orders I placed all have been canceled. The orders that I spent hours shopped on their site, they cancelled it. I tried to contact them, of course, they never contact you as they promise. And now I can't even place any order on their sister company Urban Outfitter just because of that single dress I never have!!! They are super evil, I wish they went bankrupt soon. And I hope people who shop there all be aware that as long as they have your credit card information, they can always charge you for the items you don't have and block you.
