Best bus company ever

Best bus company ever. Many people complain about issues that are not related to the actual transport experience and seem related to language barriers or unusual expectations.ALSA uses last generation Mercedes Benz buses and has impecable safety record for well over 100 years (they started as a horse carrier company in Asturias). It is not require for drivers to speak any other language but Spanish in Spain. They are hired to drive, not to speak. The SUPRA class is luxurious and beer and wine are complimentary and they have a bus attendant. I never paid a penny in the SUPRA to use a bathroom and in other classes of service they will stop for bath service and for snacks and drinks. Their web site is perfect for me and for customer service you can call them. On top of everything kids and seniors ( over 60) get discounts and their prices are unbeatable. I travel extensively and I never found a better bus company anywhere else but it is also true that I speak Spanish and I inform myself before I travel so I know where they stop exactly, how to be fast placing my luggage in the compartment under the bus , how to place myself on line timely for them to check tickets and I don’t expect the driver to do anything for me besides driving safely.

Ignore all the negative comments. I lived in Spain for 6 months and had quite a few trips from Zaragoza,Barcelona, Bilbao, Santander, San Sebastián and didn’t have a single problem in any of the cities. Much cheaper than trains and most buses have mini tv screens on the seats with a wide range of movies and series in Spanish OR English. Don’t know what more you could really ask for.

Another terrible experience with Alsa. Unfortunately there is no any other company in Madrid to travel with (Alsa I guess is legal/illegal monopoly).I purchased Supra bus ride (supposed to be luxury bus) in order to expect more comfort but instead the same rubbish as their other buses: dirty seats or broken, media screen not working, unable to charge my phone and I better won't mention the bathroom where you have to pay hahaha. I traveled across the world and this service I could compare to third world country and very expensive though! Shame Alsa to give a bad name to Spain for your lousy services!!!

Really bad, awful, disgusting expirience with Alsa, I had bought a ticket from Valencia to Barcelona in march,I asked to two operators by call in two different times if the buses were confirmed and they replied me: "yes" when I arrived in the bus stop, a person told me that Alsa had cancelled all buses ! I had to take a taxi for 400 euros, I sent all the documents by my lawyer to Alsa and they replied that they couldn't do anything in that case and that I didn't give a phone number where they could send me messages but I sent them, before to buy the tickets, my email. they sold me tickets by their website when they have already canceled the buses. you are a disgusting company, made of dishonest, stingies, thieves.

Has association with scam company Privicompras. Be careful if you use ALSA they may sign you up for a rewards program with famous scam company Privicompras.This will then take 15€ from you per month and its impossible to cancel. Cost me 150€ in total and I had to cancel my credit card and have my bank investigate fraud.

Cancelling was quick and easy. Had to cancel two planned journeys and I must say it was quick and easy to do online.This is a strange thing to be positive about....have only used Alsa occasionally before on a turn up and pay basis...... but must say this was a relief... will be happy to book with them again in future

The drivers are d*cks, this morning I walked into the bus with a 20 pounds note and the driver said that didn’t have enough change ,he suggest to buy the ticket at the till which I did but by the time I got back (which it was literally a minute) he vas well gone. I was standing there and I couldn’t believe it. Fair enough if you don’t want to wait because there is a schedule that you need to do but don’t send me away if you are not gonna wait for me
